Sure,Replace it with a new one! When I was a young man many methods were tried and flow was still marginal, not counting the time in my life I wasted trying to save a buck...

Yeah it might be the best way to go about it Is there a fuel filter you would recommend?

Look into your tank, if there is a strainer at the outlet then nothing else should be required.

I have had chunks of debris in clear housing filters before and just blown them out with air. With the ones that come apart, I will take out the element and spray it with parts cleaner, compressed air, and then reinstall. Otherwise, I just try to keep a spare handy and replace them. I've been using some aluminum filters from China with removable elements. So far so good. I used to use VisuFilters, but the prices went up. Then I tried generic knockoffs of the VisuFilter and had a couple of them crack. One of which started pouring out fuel while I was riding and left me stranded. So if you want a filter then I would suggest a trusted brand or maybe the knockoff aluminum ones. Here's one of the aluminum ones that I use after some crud in my tank (POR15 coating flaking off).
