With 6 miles on my trailmaster, I went to change the oil.
I have no idea what happened to the 10w40 I picked up a couple weeks back, so I ended up using 15w40. After the change, the motor was super quiet. I mean no metal clank at startup and the pitch was just lower. It actually sounds like a quality motor.
Took it for a 2 mile ride and it feels like the engine no longer revs as high as before. Where I was able to hit 34mph, I can now only get to 30mph.
Has anyone else experienced a drop in performance but using a heavier weight oil?

went to change the oil . . 15w40 . . feels like the engine no longer revs as high as before Unclear how much oil was added? ½ quart shows around half way up the dipstick cross-hatched end markings, not screwed in, on my 139QMB.

I have no idea how much, by measurement, was actually added. I have a diesel pickup, so I just some oil I had left over from my last oil change. All I did was add oil till it was about 90% of the way up the hatch marks.
