Hi, Does anyone have just the kick start claw spring as an extra, I would cover the shipping. The other option is to bend the spring, will that work?? The issue is that the starter claw will not engage on the other side attached to the variator. It is installed as far out as it can go on the vari side. Attached a picture to see how the spring sits and that is what I feel is not working right. Let me know.

Maybe you need to lube/clean that shaft. I see corrosion in the picture. The way the teeth on the kickstart gear are machined at an angle. When you cycle the kick lever, the small gear is supposed to kick away from the cover (due to the angled cut of the gear teeth), thus it engages the pawls on the variator side.

I know the gear is to move out. It is getting stuck by the spring being twisted. The gears are greased and move very smooth when you push the kicker down. The full motion is smooth goes down and returns up great but no engagement.

Problem solved. I did not know that the pin that the claw spins on comes out and the pin needed to be pushed out more so the claw can grab when spun.
Realized it when I took the claw out and placed it to the variator side and the crankshaft was keeping it from touching because of the center pin. Just letting all know if you have had the same problem.
