help my 50cc 2000 piaggio thyphoon won't start it's my first scooter. new to this but im a very fast leaner. im not familiar with scooter terms as yet so any info on where i can learn terms and parts names or procedures would be great. im located in dominica Elevation is between 73 m = 239 ft and 402 metres = 1318 ft above sea level and climbing at times. dellorto 17.5 hpva 32 pilot jet not sure about main jet can't make out any numbers on it, not sure about the pilot needle size. leo vince evo 2, ngk r / BPR5ES Spark plug black and a bit gassy at the moment . i get spark. this is my 3rd rectifier. not sure how to check auto choke. ignition is missing so it came with a kill switch. i use scissors to start because the relay wire is snapped or not sure how to fix it if fixable. battery has some charge at the moment. crancase cover has a small peice missing in top left corner 2.4in high and 2.3mm wide. previous owner premixed . stock airbox has 5 or 6 dime size holes punctured in it. i also removed oil the tank, guards to better work on it. inside my cvt case is real nasty with oil and gunk alot more on the bottom left side but all inside case is dirty . there is also lots of dust shavings of aluminum all throughout the case. belt looks in good condition. not sure if my petcock works and i can't afford any parts at the moment till i get my only mode of transportation going. the horn works !

Is this a 2 stroke? The bpr5es might be the wrong spark plug.

That defiantly is the wrong plug. It seems like you have a few problems going on. From the oil in the CVT cover, you most likely have a leaking crank seal. If it's bad, it could really cause problems. Start by working through the no start guide here. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/647?page=1

Is this a 2 stroke? The bpr5es might be the wrong spark plug. yes it is a 2 stroke

Welcome ivri, Looks like a lot of things going on with that. The prior owner left you a great learning opportunity. Pictures of some engine views might help everyone to offer some more advise.
A few things jumped at me: *Why three failed rectifiers? All old?
*The air box will be a help in tuning...after you reseal those holes. Holes do not allow in more air, they lower the box pressure, which is less air.
Clean everything you can before attempting to spend money. You will be glad you did. Any oil and dirt can only hurt your troubleshooting.
*ignition misfiring? After cleaning the ignition pick up sensor...usually inside the alternator cover...also called a crank pick up or other names...then check to see if it is set properly...or maybe has a short.
Much to learn, but you might have a rough diamond...or maybe a shop towel holder. Time will tell.

does anyone know of a diy method to make a swivel to my KICK-START LEVER for my 50cc thyphoon that's the only thing stopping me from troubleshooting at the moment.
