So my scooter problems are just getting worse , well atleast the SYM Dealership is going to warranty my Sym Symphony ST 200i and that scooter should be ready to pick up later today . , anyway so my trusty little 50cc SYM Jet4R 2T decided to breakdown on the way home from work last night , i finished work and i stopped to fuel up at the nearest petrol station and started cruising home then the trouble started my scooter was bogging down and almost stalling completely then would start running ok , then after a few kilometres it started doing it again i was thinking because i just fueled up i might have gotten bad petrol at the station ... so i just made it home and parked the scooter up for the night as i was going to trouble shoot the problem this morning . So this morning i started working on the scoooter i attempted to use the electric start and it would not turn over it was completely locked so then i attemped to use the kick start and that managed to make it turn over and then made a horrible crunchy grinding noise on the first kick second kick it started to kick over freely way to freely its seems i have lost all compression:( i am absolutely devastated about it scooter is only a year old its only done 6 0r 7 thousand k's i never ever let it run out of 2stroke oil i been using the same quality Shell Advance XT 2 stroke oil and this happenz ..... i wonder what has caused this problem .after speaking with the dealership i coukd be up for around $600 to $700 for a new piston kit and cyclider jug worsed case scenario if its not covered undef warranty...

That sucks Hopefully warranty covers it .
If they wont cover it than you might as well fix it yourself and upgrade the cylinder for less money

Seems as though this has become a more common problem...if it in fact a small end bearing. Excessive piston slap on deceleration? If so, that is always top end tear down time.
