Back again guys. Just got the scoot off of the trailer here in ocean city MD. I've had this issue once since the new belt and thought maybe it was a 1 off thing. Ok so the roads down here are flat. Flat as could be. And im barley getting 25mph. And while im riding the sensation i feel is like a slipping then gripping kind of bumpy ness from the cvt. So i stopped on the road and went to take off and my bike is at like 7k rpm on take off. Like it doesn't engage till like 5k rpm and just keeps going up and up in revs with a very slow roll onto speed. I have a new clutch and a new belt. What can i do? Where should i look. I have very limited tools with me. Possibly can take cvt cover off to see what's going on. Give me any ideas on what it could be.

Is it the same size belt as you had before? Did you compare them? You can't rely on the size, as different manufacturers measure belts differently. Your clutch could have stiffer springs in too.

Yes same belt that it had in it. And clutch was recommended by 90g. So update. Just now went to take the scoot on a ride and it ran for about a minute and shut off on its own. Tried to start but it's making a strange noise and is difficult to kick over. Ill be looking into it tomorrow. Its getting dark here now.

Stance buy a new belt and fit it with the teeth pointing down exactly the opposite of how you have it now.

The belt is inside out or upside down like geoff said . If you did not install it like that . It had to have a ton of slack to flip like that .
The variator looks tore up it may need to be polished or replaced

I put it in teeth down. Im so confused. I have no idea how it flipped. And when i installed it. It was very very tight getting on. I have no idea how it could have stretched.

The belt should fit loose when you put it on make sure its down deep in the rear pully and high in the variator torque the variator nut and rotate it all by hand a few times and recheck the variator torque.don't,t worry the CVT will set itself once you use the engine.

If the belt was really tight upon install it’s possible it got pinched and flat spotted in the variator. As far as it flipping inside out by itself though, 🤷♂️.

As zino stated...clean and polish that entire variator and clutch, then give it a close look to see if there are any induced defects.
Do not feel too bad. A new belt can be more fiddly-diddly than a worn one. The problems is not always obvious.

It looks like the bearing for the clutch shaft is missing from the cover so the rear transmission had no support.

How should i clean/polish it? And when i put the belt on it. It was very tight. If you look through my previous thread i have pictures of what it looked like after fresh install. It was the same size belt i don't understand. As zino stated...clean and polish that entire variator and clutch, then give it a close look to see if there are any induced defects. Should i get a new same size belt? I got the same size as before. It's possible the clutch is a tad bigger than the one that was on it. In that case. What can i do?

I can re order the same belt but am worried it will do the same thing. I can try to find the pictures of the new belt install from my last post.
