So I have a Honda DIO, year 1997 and Japan. I think it's an AF27, but not sure. The scooter has been sitting in my garage unused for like 8 years. It of course doesn't start. I cleaned the carburetor and ordered a new spark plug. I am currently putting back the carburetor and the Airbox as seen in the pictures. The thing is the scooter feels kind of empty from the inside, is some component missing from it? Where can I find the scooter's battery? There's also this tube hanging and I have no idea what it is, it was not attached to anything when I was taking off the carburetor, does anyone know what this tube is and where it has to be?

I think most Dio had the battery in the front. It looks like your battery box could be missing. The pipe is a breather for the gear box.

If all is stock...as bud says...it should be under the front cowl, with relays and such. That CVT vent tube should be routed to a small filter...under the seat, maybe. If I can recall, the OEM filter was a plastic housing with a stuffed-loose mesh filter. No mattter. Any cheap vent-filter will do.
If you get discouraged...please send it to me. I love me some Dio.
