Hi all ive just bought a 34-40mm lectron, I see a few on here have used, and wondering what number rod are they using, this is ment to be off a 125cc but has a 4-2 rod think maybe 250cc from what I can find out, ive emailed lectron and asked, but no answer, any help would be appreciated, think the lectron will be better than the 35mm tmx mukini, we will see on the dyno

Have a read through Brent's T2 thread. It seems very hard to set up for scooters. And Lectron don't seem to have a lot of experience to help.

Yes im starting to think that, and it has a 4-2 rod and think someone here has video of tuning a 30mm and they had a 2-2 rod, im starting to think just use the 35mm tmx mukini, and ill try it on my 132cc aerox, it loves fuel, lol

That's what I would do. Don't want to mess up the Malossi so early on.

I used a 30mm Lectron. I'd love to tell you what rod works for me, but none of them have and I've had more than a few in there. I melt pistons quickly at part throttle. Last time I had it on there, I tried mid-throttle for maybe 30 seconds and that was the end of my piston. I used it briefly when I installed an EGT and I didn't have the balls to see where temps went. All I know for sure is that it gets hot very quickly at part throttle and then I chicken out ($150 per piston shipped from overseas).
I was told that the 30mm is likely too big for my 86cc and that they wouldn't advise one for anything but drag racing if the engine starts at less than 70cc because they say the carb flows so much that people underestimate it.
Current advised solution is for me to add a second power jet to take effect in the mid throttle range. Basically a band-aid for a carb that just isn't working for me. It makes no gains that I can tell over my 25mm DellOrto round slide. In fact, I'm quicker with the Dell... plus I can ride basically however I want and it's fine.
I think a lot of people go a bit overboard with giant carbs, but I don't have a dyno to prove it or think that benefits may show more on a dyno than riding. Regardless, I was going to try the 30mm Lectron on the RC-One, but I don't think I'd want to go even bigger if they're saying my issues are because it's too big for my current engine. It seems like a lot of people are drag racing with them, and not many people on high strung scooters are out there riding around with them in the real world. I just had to be the dumb one that's the guinea pig.
Ryan Ott has a 34mm flat slide on his RC-One and it works well. TBH though, I'm not sure how you tell if it's got good response for taking off. You can't twist it quickly WOT unless you are willing to climb up on the front of the scoot and try to ride it out. It's probably not even a bad thing for it if it does have less throttle response from a stop. He was de-tuning his clutch in hope that he could make a turn from a stop sign without the front being light. It responds well once it's moving and RPM is up, but I couldn't tell you if it would match a smaller carb.

For everything else where you don't have to use 99% of the time 99% throttle, going smaller isn't as bad as you'd think. Here in Holland we have a very competitive 50cc MX championship. It's 50cc MX bikes, 125cc chassis with Minarelli AM6 6-speed engines. There's the Pro and Unlimited class. Pro is restricted to 16mm carbs and the other is unlimited. On a mx tracks (where you modulate the throttle a lot) those two classes are not too far apart when looking at lap times. Bigger is better yes, but only for drag racing.

Yes I agree, from what I've seen and read even the 30mm lectron is hard to set up right, I ended up useing a 35mm tmx mukini with vforse 3 reeds on adaptor and lmr inlet only got running yesterday, but its looking like it going to make motor scream. I've only got poilet jet sorted so far, a lot of people seem to go to the 32mm polini at most on the 94cc rc setups, im guessing for street use, but I will say if you have at least port matched the cases then the 35mm should suit if your running big intake and big reeds, the diffrence from the 28mm dellorto was like this is a diffrent motor, I was impressed, the carb may sound big at 35mm but the tmx is made for 125cc race, the response and crispness was so much better. I can't wait to get fully tuned and see what it will do thanks for your input and intrest

Yes ive ended up useing the tmx 35mm, from what I've read and seen the 30mm lectron is as big as tou would go, but even then hard to set up right, but the diffrence from the 28mm dellorto is amazing, but the 35mm is a real race carb and a lot bigger. Motor seems to like the carb. So far I've only sorted out poilet jet, can't wait to finish jetting and finish run in, new plastics, big breaks, rear torsen bar, to install, and bike will be finaly finished well for now. Think ive done enough, but I have rc-one cases for one of my areox's so I can see a lmr or roost 100cc-115cc im not aloud a full bike licence, so its how fast can I get a 50cc bike to go lol
