I,m not familiar with this set up,but the central section looks like a torx head fitting and the outer ring has two slots to accommodate a holding tool,so I would lock the outer ring and undo the central part.don't,t throw any rocks at me when you skin your knuckles Geoff

To add a bit, I think there is a bearing being held in place by the outer ring. The one that appears to have two spots for a spanner to engage. Loosen this 'ring' and likely the sheet metal stamping can be slid off the axle. There may be fasteners behind the ring that hold the bearing in place. I think the interna hex is part of the drive axle/shaft that comes out of the final drive gearbox. I think it(the axle) rides in a bearing that is retained in the stamped arm. Frankenmech has one... a DF reverse trike. I worked on one, but did not have to mess with that part. tom

the center piece will rotate with the wheel. the hex nut/bolt will not budge right or left even with a impact wrench. i dont see any other fasteners. i am guessing there is a trick to it that i cannot see.

I saw the post but I have never removed my rear tire so I hoped someone else might have seen it. I can only guess there may be some loctite involved. When I did my PDI and assembly the manufacturer specified blue loctite on most of the suspension and wheel fasteners -crazy. There are plenty of instructions on the web about how to remove fasteners with loctite on them. It does not take any great amount of heat, no red hot fasteners etc. Most people go way overboard with a torch and ruin the metal fasteners. www.loctiteproducts.com/en/know-how/build-things/threadlocker-red-or-blue-which-ones-right-for-you.html#C
