Znen 50cc is hard to start. New battery. Notice the electric start is sluggish. Kick start take about 20 - 30 kicks.
After it starts then it seems fine. It will start again with electric or kick start.
Heard it could be electric grounding.
Can I ask for advice. Thank you.

Did you check the battery voltage at rest? A charged battery should be in the 12.7+ range. A new battery may/may not be fully charged. Did you check the ground and positive cables? Did you check where they attach to the chassis, relay in/out, and starter? Have you tried a direct jumper cable connection from the battery to the starter + post? It will spark if you do. You can also work the throttle to WOT a few times to squirt a dash of fuel into the intake. If things are correct, the engine should start withing a few crankshaft rotations. It should 'jump' to life. In most cases, you do not want to move the throttle control at all when starting. Have you checked the enrichment mechanism, the 'byvalve' black thing on the left(as seated) side of the carb? It retracts a probe when cold, allowing fuel:air to bypass the throttle plate and produce a FAST cold idle. If you don't get a fast idle when cold, it likely is not working. tom

two issues.
First grounding requires checking as kick start works before electric start. I can refer to manual diagram to check electrical grounding.
Second dirty fuel, because sitting around things get settled, and sink down then hard to start. Draining fuel tank and lines, and filter while at it.
Machincal things. But we are learning.

One more thought. All the carbs I have seen that use the byvalve to start from cold do NOT need any throttle opening by the hand throttle. The byvalve provides a passage for the engine to start and run at a good fast idle. Once warmed, the original idle throttle plate setting and mixture needle should suffice. It can be counter productive to open the hand throttle at all when trying to start a cold engine.
I know from experience and ignorance.
Let the byvalve do its job, keep your hands off the throttle control(don't turn it) and the engine should start right away without much cranking at all. It is designed to start by the kick start, so the rpms from electric should be more than enough to get it going. When set properly, the engine comes to life within a second or two of cranking. More than that, and something is adjusted wrong, there is lack of fuel, leaking valves, fouled or improperly gapped spark pluyg, poor compression, a lagging/dragging CVT, SOMETHING that is not proper is causing long crank times. When working they pop to life quickly. Adding some human attributes, they !like! to run..... tom

Before starting, I give a little shake. Seems to work.

A few wide open throttle twists on the control will squirt a bit of gas into the carburetor and in some cases may help a cold engine start. The squirt makes the mix a bit richer and gives some fuel vapor that can mix with air and fire more readily. Nothing wrong with that. tom
