Isnt it just a sign that the column left from it is measuring water temp?

Isnt it just a sign that the column left from it is measuring water temp? I Swapped the 17.5mm carb to 21mm carb. The old carb had coolant running through the carb, but new one did not have that option. So, I blocked off the coolant inlet and outlet in cylinder head.  |
