I have a 50cc Cabo 2021 model. Unfortunately I have put on weight, up to about 240 and it just doesn't seem to have the same speed as when I bought it new. I have purchased a compression tester and a bottle of Rislone high mileage. Haven't done any testing yet but most plac a I've seen say my moped is made for about 200 lbs. This is my only transportation and wanted to know what kind of a big bore kit I would need to purchase and how long approximately it would take to do? Unfortunately I'm not really mechanically inclined so would have to take it to a mechanic to do. Any help would be appreciated

I've read alot of negative info about the carb not being able to keep up with the engine. I would research that possibility, but I also think you're still fine with what you have (riding double is not ok). just take care of the basics with your 50cc.

Metal an,there is a long list of things you need to check, but a full service should pep up your scooter, under in flated tyres will bring you to a crawl,a new spark plug might just be the ticket!!,a big bore kit is a serious operation and if you rely on the scoot not the best option IMO.

Cutting your food intake to drop those added pounds will not only help the scooter performance but it will help you live longer and feel better. Food tastes wonderful and I like eating but I found out years ago I feel better when the pounds are gone. I oscillate around 220-225 which is not bad on my 6'4" frame but I have to watch it. I really wish I could see 210-215 but every time I get close a damn doctor changes my meds and screws me up. Doctors

Have you had the CVT serviced at all? Like Geoff said a good service might be all it needs. How many miles has it done?

The ride becomes 50% machine and 50% rider at that weight level. I was up there around 230, at 5'10" on a good day. Now down to 198-200 daily. It took months of internally saying... "you don't need that, and you can walk away" along with salads for late meal. And feeling hungry as about to fall asleep. The best thing to do is to NOT eat after 5-6PM. You(most people) generally are more sedentary in the evening, and eating a big meal that late is just feeding the 'storage' system in your body. "Here's a buncha calories... Whaddya want me to DO with them?" You are not moving, you are not burning calories... so the Storage system goes to work and gets them out of the bloodstream and shoves them into fat cells only to happy to get full. So, don't go there. Don't feed the system in the evening. Eat a bit heartier at lunch if you have to, but make the evening meal a light one. You do not have to starve yourself. Just cut back on the evening calories. Even just taking a smaller portion helps. A brother who is a Doc told of a patient who ate normally, and then related how she had a PopTart every afternoon. Daily. He did a little math, and related to her how that one PopTart daily added THOUSANDS of calories to her diet over time. She may have had a Coke/Pepsi/etc also, I don't remember. Any way, it took me over a year to lose those lbs. As an aside, it takes months/years to add them on, so it will take months/years to let them go. As far as the scooter, do the percent added to the overall and see if it is significant enough to cause a big hit to performance. If you don't want to or can't discipline youerself to just cut back a little every day, then adding hp/torque is the only way to gain back performance. As the only means of transportation, you may want to find someone who has done a BBK install and is willing to guide/show or do the exchange. There are some VERY INSTRUCTIVE YT videos showing the project, how to do, what to do, and perhaps even a list of the necessary tools to perform a BBK update. If you do one, do not skip re-installing the shroud/ductwork or you will be doing it again when the rings fail and you can no longer get the engine to run. Keep us posted tom

I hear ya about the weight, I'm disabled and unfortunately unfortunately I live in the boondocks and don't really walk all that much. It's really shot up the last couple years. It's got about 5k miles on it and I changed the belt about a month and a half ago. Nothing looked wrong with the CVT so just cleaned it up and put it back together. I've found a YT video that goes through the entire process so I'll check that out and see how involved it is. Don't have a whole lot more than a basic socket set, wrenches and a set of screwdrivers. Do have a mechanic that helped me do the belt so may need to talk to him about it. I've seen sever BBK on Amazon but kind of afraid of wasting money I don't really have. It's a 2021 Cabo 50cc, if anyone has any suggestions as to where to get a good BBK let me know. Thanks for all your responses
