My scooter will start and idle but when give it gas it stalls... I've tried 2 different used carbs both cleaned with carb cleaner tho and fittled with the fuel air adjustments while running and no luck.. it does have 9000 miles on it so I'm thinking it could be a vacumme problem or maybe need new gaskets idk I'm a carpenter not a mechanic lol anybody have any suggestions?? Btw it does sound of gargelly when it stalls.. dnt know if that tells anybody anything?? HELP! LOL

Check for vacuum leaks. Start by looking for anything obvious like a hose unplugged, vacuum cap missing, cracked hose, cracked intake, etc... The intakes on GY6 four-strokes are notorious for cracking, so check it over well. If you can't see anything, you can use an unlit propane torch to check for leaks. If you move the torch around the intake area and carb with the engine running, you should notice a change in RPM as propane nears any spot where there's a vacuum leak. That's the way I'm used to, but others say you can do the same with water in a spray bottle.

Ok thank you for the tip.. I bought the scooter used and I think the system was jury riged to begin with but is there any way I can eliminate the vacumme system all together by blocking the flow to the exusth recylcling system thing on the bottom of the valve cover and pluging the intake manifold gold things on the sides of the intake manifold to where it just pulls from the carb?

Make sure you check the intake spacer and its gasket. They are extremely notorious for cracking or rolling the o-ring gasket causing a leak.

You can't eliminate the vacuum system for the carb and exhaust, you can eliminate the emission control system.

When you use propane to check for vacuum leaks be mindful of any arching or leakage of the high tension wire from the coil or boot. Many an eyebrow have been singed useung that method. I prefer a little carb cleaner for that process.

You could also adjust the carb's idle screw.
