I have searched this problem extensively, tried everything I could find and nothing has fixed it so Im throwing it out here hoping someone can help. Here is my build thread with photos. This scooter has a new carb with a 90jet, all new clutch, rollers, intake manifold, airfilter, belt, spark plug wire. All from Scrappydgscooters.com. I can get it running but it dies at 1/2 throttle. I have tried jets from 83-90, there arent any vacuum leaks, the diaphragm in the carb is fine. Cant figure it out. if anyone has any new suggestions please let me know.

Even though it's a new carb and I'd hope it's not necessary, you could try cleaning all passages with compressed air and carb cleaner. Check the float height too. Are the lines and filter in good shape and clear?

Sorry it took so long to reply.
I took apart the carb and cleaned everything I could find, float height looks good to me, although I dont have much experience with that part of the carb, lines and filter are all brand new. Still dies at about half throttle.

did you check the valve lash? After increase the fuel flow with bigger jets & more aire with free flow filter you may need a valve adjustment .....maybe not but if thats the case it only take you a few mins.

I did but I set it to stock specs. Should I have adjusted it differently due the the increased air and fuel flow?

Stock valve settings should be fine.
