1FASTQMB provided a bunch of information that is helpful for anyone trying to find a genuine Keihin carburetor for their GY6 50 and avoid the counterfeits.
The real ones have this too PLUS:
STAMPED serial number below that in the body of the carb
and also yes the black top (NEVER metal) with 'Keihin' on the black top and 'technology from JAPAN' below that plus it will be stamped PD18J on the outlet side plus it will come jetted #85 right out of the box.
^^^^^ those are made at Keihins China plant lol but are awesome
The GENUINE Japanese Factory made PD18J Keihins are just like above but have a 'K' and a 'T' on the Left and Right of the Keihin 'K' logo on the body of the carb, and the casting is slightly better.
GENUINE JAPAN FACTORY:
......Kei-'K'(logo)-Hin...
......K..............T......
........######NUMBERS######...........
KEIHIN CHINA FACTORY:
..........Kei-'K'(logo)-Hin..........
............JAPAN...........
........######NUMBERS######...........
....plus all the other stuff i said
The fakes only have The Keihin 'K' logo on the side with KEI on the left and HIN on the right and 'Japan' under that........

The carburetor described above is made at Keihins China plant but is a great carb. Fixed many a shitty running motor with them right out of the box.
The GENUINE Japanese Factory made PD18J Keihins are just like above but have a 'K' and a 'T' on the Left and Right of the Keihin 'K' logo on the body of the carb NO 'JAPAN' undwer that but DOES have the serial number below, and the casting is much better. SEE PICTURES ABOVE
Ive seen the $30 fakes, the $70 Keihin-China ones and the $200 Keihin-Japan ones. The Keihin-China ones I have on my site come jetted #85/33. I dont know what the factory japan ones come jetted. I think keihin-japan carbs are only sold to the contracted motorcycle companies that keihin carbs come on:
Honda, Triumph, Suzuki, Kawasaki, KTM, and Harley-Davidson
The fakes only have The Keihin 'K' logo on the side.. Keihin and Japan with the logo

Also the quality of construction is much better on even the authentic china factory keihins and even moreso on the japan factory ones. The stampings are sharp and precise. the metal overall is much smoother.
