Got it registered today!! DMV gave me a run around..so I got the main Office in Lansing on the Cell Phone as we stood there in line..AGAIN.. Had them speak with them and got it right. The office locally was following an outdated directive removed from the books years ago...and even then it ONLY covered Scooters with NO MCO that have never been registered. I have the MCO and it has the VIN..plus the receipt has the VIN and that is all the State needed since it did not show up up under their list of reported missing vehicles VIN numbers. Now how is it that you can do a job for the public..when you don't even know the rules of the job you are doing??. Anyway now..back out to finish painting after my fun lil test ride.. These 'cheapie' Ebay 4 T pipes sound so kewl..and possibly a tiny power gain. Regardless a John Deere theme decked out Scoot not only sounds kewl..but it looks and sounds John Deere even... So stick it DMV...we ridin' now!! Just gotta finish the paint job.. Nice!

How do they extend cases? Would a channel iron or sheet metal bolted in work?
I saw a yellow painted motorcycle drive by tonight that had the "Always Save' grocery store brand stickers on it.

Doc, the people at the Secretary of State's office must not get any training. I bought my DongFang DF50STE from a police auction, and the Secretary of State person told me they can't transfer the registration because the previous owner didn't sign the registration. I called Lansing, they told me all I needed was the bill of sale from the auction house and I was good. I'm not the only one in the area. A few scooter owners I talked to said they had problems getting scooters registered at that office. Worst is that they wrongfully license 150cc and 250cc scooters as mopeds! Over 100cc needs to be licensed as a motorcycle, not a scooter.

In MI., the Secretary of State (runs the licensing bureau) is an elected position. That means they Lie, cheat and steal from the public.
