That is pretty straight forward. I've got this 1E40QMB motor totally tore down, planning on a 70cc kit with a long stroke crank. 45mm stuffer from Motoritec. I am planning on embarking on this PITA with Dremel tools, hand files, and sand paper. I will have the crank machined slightly and balanced so I don't eat into the case too much. I have a Oko Koso PWK 28mm carb, waiting on my intake to get here. I already have roller weights, 2000RPM spring set, (which I didn't order) and Motoritec Variator and rear clutch/pulley. I have a NGK iridium plug but it seats too deep into the head... need correct part number. BR9EIX is what I have. I have an Expansion Chamber exhaust. planning on getting the Hoca lighweight Stator. I've got an Orange coil and the blue CDI. I'm probably going to go back to the black CDI once I get the Hoca stator and adjust timing that way. since the new carb has no provisions for oil injection, I have removed the oil injector and pulley. I will be using DelRay 50:1 2T oil.
I will be wanting to rebuild this motor again this winter, upping it to the 54mm cylinder bore! Everything else should be pretty straight forward except the case boring and getting a new exhaust. What is the cylinder height of the 54mm from base gasket to cylinder deck? I want to get a cylinder that will fit under the 90cc shroud without needing a spacer or extra gaskets to handle the crank.
Are there any other little tweaks and mods to help general operation and longevity?

forgot to add, I made a small circuit board with a fancy capacitor to power a train horn. yes, a train horn. an electric replica but still, it's a train horn.

I would consider using large flap wheels to open the case up. I found them fairly easy to get good results with. There is also so talk of homemade case cutting rigs in oldgeek's thread in the Builds section.
If you want a 9 series iridium plug BR9HIX is the same but with 1/4" less reach. That works on most of the Minarelli engines. BR9HS would be the standard (non-iridium) equivalent.
Do you have the 70cc kit already? If not, I'd go straight to the 54mm bore. Even if you do, I'd prob sell it and put the money toward a kit intended for 45mm stroke. Maybe there are some out there, but the typical 70cc kit is not intended for longer than stock stroke. I've seen people using them with 41.4mm strokers successfully, but when you go way up on stroke it throws the port timings off and makes it so nothing just bolts together and works with minimal effort.
There are different 54mm kits, but for a 45mm stroke the base to deck height is usually 78-79mm.
Make sure the expansion chamber you use is suitable for a 90cc+. Some of the 50-70cc stuff has small stingers and they run too hot. Look for at least 19mm ID on the stinger and our resident pipe expert (190mech) recommends even more than that for best results on a "big" motor.

yes, I already have the kit. Then I tore the motor down and found that my crank was shot. if I could find a place to sell the kit to, I would. I might go with the shorter crank until this winter, like you've stated. the flapper wheels you attach to grinders? I didn't even think of that.
Oh, and reeds, what can be done with reeds? I've seen polini carbon sheets, and boyesen power reeds. are there upgraded cages also?

You can try the classifieds section for selling the kit.
Yeah, the flap/flapper wheels that you can use in a grinder. I used an electric drill. 1/4" shank, 2-3" wheel, 60-120 grit. May still need the Dremel to be sure the corners are square.
If you decide to go with a standard stroke crank you can get Naraku cranks for not that much more than a stock replacement. Got mine from RacingPlanetUSA. PFS sells a Hoca 41.4mm stroker if that interests you.
There are upgraded cages. Have a look around RacingPlanetUSA. The VForce3 is nice, but it's expensive. There are cheaper options that are better than stock.

I just read all of 190Mech's 103 build.
some of the little things he fabbed up make me want to get some 75%argon 25%CO2 and fab some of the same stuff. (AWS certified welder)
I can make an intake like he has cheaper than I can buy one and ship from Taiwan.
I actually deal with Autotec335 a lot.
I found a small machine shop up the road that can do all the work for me when it comes to the case work.
then i'll follow 190mech's lead on the cylinder mods and case porting.
this will stay on my Baccio.
I am supposed to be getting a Genuine Rough House soon, a family friend wants me to have a new scoot so I don't have to keep fixing the 139QMB's and have something with a reliable warranty. that's another story though.

If you are going to build a 90cc plus motor with a 45mm crank you need to make sure your crank is a 12mm piston pin. You can't get a 54mm piston with a 10mm pin.

I wouldn't have it any other way moofus. why would I push that much torque through a tiny wrist pin? especially if I expect to ride wheelies and what not? the police get a kick out of my TaoTao 1P39QMB cuz it's just a tad bit more peppy. I wonder what they'll say about a baccio doing wheelies?

this scooter has a dual bell train horn tucked under the front rain cover. yes, a train horn. I had to make a board with a one way diode, and a capacitor, to have enough juice stored up to fire that thing. I made my own relay box for it too, which I made wrong the first time, and almost made myself deaf.

We need pics and video of this train horn.

ok, I sent a email to autotech355 and waiting on the sun to reach his side of the planet. should be able to order the stuff to do this job directly from him. I just don't know about Taiwanese exhaust systems fitted for this set-up?

There are some 100cc pipes out there Leo vince zx 100cc tg next r 100 . The regular zx or Zxr has a big enough stinger to work. 190mech suggested the yasuni c16 had numbers that might make a good 90cc Street pipe and Sent me numbers so I could build a copy

if I could TIG weld, best believe... I'd just copy one and make it myself. I think my 220V Lincoln is too hot for all that mess on the lowest MIG setting, right now I'm using .025 Flux Cored Self Shielded. I have a mandrel tubing bender so I could get the curves from port to pipe real nice and smooth, it's just getting the pieces of mild steel sheet together...
