I like the Hoca variators, but I haven't tried Koso. The Hoca's drive boss is short so for best takeoff you will likely need to use spacers 0.5mm to 2mm. The bad news then is that if the pulley can make use of the full travel the ramp and vari separate a lot and the plastic guide bushings will break fairly regularly.

I see that the HOCA vario uses guide bushings like the gy6 50cc engine.I think i will buy the koso vario,I think that the koso vario is a copy off the Naraku vario.

I've open my case today and remove the restrictor ring on the variator bushing and i notice that the bushing is 21mm not 18mm,the vario is 95mm,the crankshaft is 16mm on the vario side,so I have 2 options for performance vario now the koso and this no name brand bouth from china. NO NAMEKOSO

I like that the no name vari has extended guides on it, but I have no idea if it's any good and it may require removal of the e-start stuff. Not saying it's what I'd choose, but I do wish more variators came with longer ramp guides.

i used the koso, regular one, and the slides, that, caome with it. in under 100 miles, i had rode the scooter. it was all fine. i was getting ready to change out the roller weights, and use some chinese slide guides, cause i didnt look how, see through, transparent the slides looked on teh koso after the last time i had took them out. decided before i changed them out, id take it for a little spin up the road. just for fun. took off out the drive way. it about threw me off the back, when i took off out on the road. i hit the brake. i went up the road and back, and after that, it seemed sluggish running. came back. took the variator off, and the slides had broke, and the ramp plate was eating into the variator. had to get another one. have a new one, and using polini slide guides. works fine. i used some chinese slide guides on my stock variator while i waited, for the other one to come in. and used some dr pulley sliders, still got good top speed. road probably 150 miles. had to wait awhile. maybe 200 miles. didnt have a problem with them. rip those sliders off they dont have to make sliders. just variators. dont trash a wait on the boat a month variator on the sliders for it to keep the variator gasketed out.

I just spend the money on a 47mm kit,the vario will wait,i now that koso have some realy bad sliders, they are made from some recycled nylon, nasty stuff,I have used koso for my gy6 125 and it worked like a charm with stock sliders.here is pic from the bbk,its taiwan made with RIK piston rings the price is 35$ but it comes witohut a head.

The stock head will do. They dont offer many gaskets in your kit so I would say get a whole top end gasket set, and exhaust gasket. I would also reccomend a c/f reed, and carb up-jet, and a new wrist pin bearing while your in there. What size cylinder is that?

These cheap cylinders dont even offer enough power to be worth the install. Why not buy a proper cylinder
