It's contagious. Another family member wants a scoot. Just picked up this mint 15 year old Piaggio Typhoon 50. Time for a sport build to get it up to speed. I probably won't do this on this build, but does anyone know of any larger front and back wheels (12 or 13 inch) that are direct swaps for the 10 inch that will fit onto the Typhoon without any rework (or very little). You didn’t happen to buy one of these twins did you? I’m so tempted to go take a look at one of the 2 and give the guy an offer (that he can’t refuse)

Go to the Piaggio side, you will not regret it.

No , I was fortunate enough to find one close to my home, and got a deal on it. Funny situation. The guy had a mint Zuma and a mint Typhoon (very low miles on both)of the same age. Good deals on both, he wanted 400 more for the the Zuma. He thought the Zuma was worth much more and was surprised my preference (well especially at the price)was for the Typhoon. The Piaggio motor does have some advantages but I like the Minarelli's too but not for more money. I am a bit adverse to buying anything other motor than these , but a recent listing near me for a Moskito with 200 miles on it has me tempted.

The Piaggio cranks are much stronger than the Minarelli's. The stock variator is way better too.

The pick is in the earlier post from June 12. Not to mention that Piaggio carbs are Dellorto 17.5- no need to swap out carbs.

After cutting the grass, I thought I'd take the 49'er for a spin and reward myself with a 50¢ Frosty.(50¢ promotion ended, bummer.) Funny how you can be wore out, dead tired, hot and sweaty. But, within 2 minutes, 20 mph through the subdivision, that smile appears. A few more minutes and you're up to speed and feelin' great. 8 miles to Wendy's, grab some lunch, (and, a frosty,) then, take the long way home. There's the little feller, outside the window.

I changed my clutch cable, again. This past one lasted the longest, wooo! Pretty sure my issue is I am using a bicycle brake cable and the cable end is not fitting in the lever the way it should (too loose). Oh well. Quick fix, but had to remove my exhaust too as it blocks the anchor point. All is well

I took some photocopies of the 2 wiring diagrams of the speedfight one with the immobilizer system and the one without so I can convert mine to simple's one after studying them next week...........hopefully
On another note been offered a vespa automatic which I can pursue Saturday morning or when back from Glastonbury 😊

Painted the forks. They were oxidizing pretty badly from all the winter salt. Also painted round the engine mounts where the salt had gotten a hold. Made a blanking plate for the oil pump delete.
