Sized up an aluminum soon to be installed stage6 bbk for my 2 stroke motor.
Removed the head gasket and cylinder base gasket to reduce squish to 0.85 mm.

Replaced a leaky fuel shutoff valve. Changed the oil. And went on a 20 chinameter ride (my first in almost a year.)

Took a good ride today, used a whole tank of gas. Saw a bunch of Harleys, today is the last day of the fall bike rally. Got rained on slightly, so I went back to Scootopia and did a pretty serious cleanup and rearrange. I recently put down some Race Deck style plastic tiles in a 9 x 17 portion of Scootopia. I think it will help insulate my feet from the cold concrete this winter, and it has already helped soften the concrete up for my feet quite a bit. I should have put the tiles down a long time ago.

I have been using those for a couple years. I ended up using them in a single row in front of the work bench. They work good but my chair does not roll around on them very well, and the scooter lift will not roll on them at all. These new tiles seem to be a good compromise. I still may use a row of the softer ones on top of the tiles in front of the work bench.

I had the day off and rested most of the day except for taking most of the scoots for a ride. The SR50 is such a nice scoot but I need to get a pipe for it to wake it up. Then I'll need a 70cc kit to make it a beast. All in good time. The ET4 is always a joy to ride, I rode it all over town smiling. The GTS was an evening ride. While waiting at a light behind a truck I heard a low growl, the truck turned off and there was a red Lamborghini ahead of me. I caught him at the next light, as he pulled off I kept up with him and followed. Finally I was able to pull up next to him and he saw it was a Vespa and gave me a smile and a wave. Italian machines need to stick together.

Rebuilding a spare motor for a wheelie build... I ported a Chinese 50mm head and added titanium valve retainers and 12,000rpm springs along with viton seals. Pulled the 50mm Piston and cylinder off this engine and while prepping the 52mm I had thought I grabbed the wrong rings from my stash of part... Rings installed in cylinder and squared up with the 52mm cylinder: And then I notice the markings: Look close as you can see they are marked 50! What the what? I hat to file them because they should be gapped to .008" but they were .006". Still mid build, I just wanted to share this...

Now it's all together and it sounds like the main crank bearing is done... knocking if I lightly spin the crank back n forth. Also, right at TDC there's a tight spot in the crank, with no plug threaded in so there's no compression.
Pulling it apart tomorrow I guess...

main crank bearing is done... Yeah, totally the big bearing was toast. Swapping the top end to a different engine soon.

Haven't posted much about my "dumb little motorbike" recently, but I'm kinda excited about this
Was a lot of machining need to fit the new cylinder, it's rather different than the original disc valve cylinder and needed a big spacer between 2 base gaskets and some mill and lathe time among other things.
