How do the splines on the crank look? It should not wobble when tightened.

Splines are visible in a pic in previous posts. Actually they look a bit worn out. But the ships should go on the out side of the fan plate on top of the locking star? Or on top of boss drive? And also on fan wheel there is a recess in the middle isn't it for the boss drive to go in a bit?

There is normally one washer the same diameter between the boss and fan pulley that fits in the recess. It can be removed for a higher top speed(at the cost of a slower take off) but it would have to be put on the other side between the star washer and kick start cog. This has been the case on the minarelli 2t CVTs I've worked on. Not sure about others. The low rpm noise was likely the rollers you were hearing.

I can feel my belt wobble sometimes on takeoff too. Its just the variator and clutch trying to grab and the extra slack at the bottom being created. I'm glad to hear your getting it sorted out its about time. One thing I do to get my carb adjusted really good is put in heavy ass weights and whatever settings accelerates best is usually the one I go with unless its a hair lean. Then I put the ones I plan on using back in.
