hello, AGAIN all. after fixing my bogging issue, i have a new one. fixed the bogging issue, then went for a 20 mile ride. (filled up before i left) when i was passing the gas station near the house on the way home i looked down, and the needle was on empty. i checked the fuel line, its good. filter isnt leaking either. tank was just kreemed last october, so i know it isnt leaking.
heres the kicker. i took off the airbox cover, and the damn thing has a puddle of fuel in there. its gotta be just spraying out the intake at high revs. what would cause this? my first thought was the intake valve, but i literally JUST checked the valves. i know the intake manifold is good, i used red high temp rtv at all the mating surfaces. im wondering if A) i need a smaller main (currently running a #95 on the 80cc BBK) or B) i need a less restrictive intake.
any help is much appreciated. i bought this thing so it would get BETTER gas mileage than my park avenue!
EDIT; also, since it started doing this, it will not start cold on the starter. it will just run the battery down. the only way to start it cold is a good swift stomp on the kick start. once it is warm, it will just tick over like a bran new caddy with the starter.

a 95 on an 80cc might be a little big, try a #90 and see if that helps. also check the diaphragm and see if the needle setting is too rich. it could also be that your float needs to be adjusted, if the fuel rises too high it will spill over into the air box with it running.

i will check it tomorrow... just wondering why it started so suddenly like this. maybe the float is stuck. i have been thinking of jetting down. plug is a bit too dark for my liking.

Congrats on having the worst mileage I recall on a little scoot. I thought my regular 30MPG 2T was bad.
With mileage that low and fuel puddling, I would not expect it to be a simple issue f a jet being a few sizes off. You can get improvements, but a few jet sizes isn't going to double or triple your fuel economy to get it where I'd think it should be. First I'd check the float height. I've had 2Ts that had the float too high and because it wasn't a fast leak the fuel evaporated mostly and the only way I really noticed the leak at a glance was the puddle of 2T oil that didn't evaporate.

update; i have figured it out.... turns out intermittently, its flooding out and draining gas out of the overflow while riding. the only reason i know this is while sitting at a red light a little old lady yelled "you're dripping something!" i pulled over, and under the overflow there was a nice little puddle on the engine case. i know the float is sticking, but shouldnt it be sticking all the time? i plan on diagnosing it tomorrow with the carb off, and running the overflow hose into a small temporary container just to see if it keeps doing it after i have cleaned the carb. could it be related to being full throttle most of the time? thanks alot guys!

Sometimes they do get hung up intermittently. Clean everything around the float well with carb cleaner and make sure it moves freely when it's going back together.
