it pings with or without the blue cdi, hasn't really pinged since adding sea foam. one thing that is kind of odd, i added the blue CDI and it still is easy to start like it was with stock, normally it is supposed to take a little longer to start when you add a performance CDI.

One thing about those blue and orange and gold CDIs is you have no idea what you're really getting most of the time. Buying from one seller may solve that. 190mech and I both checked timing on similar CDIs for the 2T and one of us had flat timing and the other actually had a curve.

it does have a little change with the blue CDI over the stock in power but no effect on starting up. i had a good laugh at myself yesterday, i check the air pressure in my tires maybe once a millennium and i know i should do it more often. my scooter has felt the same riding it since day one until yesterday when a guy from libby's in new haven saw me in a parking lot and said my rear tire looked low. i went to the gas station and sure enough there was 5lbs of air in it and 10lbs in the front tire. the tires looked fine and didn't feel low on air but when i put air in them it changed how the scooter handles, i have more speed and easier handling, so for 2000 miles i have been basically riding on flats lol. the tires are fine and the side walls were not damaged which is surprising. i thought the handling was just the scooter being chinese and it really wasn't that bad until i rode it with full tires and saw the difference.

Air was prob the best bang for the buck mod done so far. On my little 50 I can tell when it's just a few pounds off. If I ran them at 5psi I'd prob top out at 15MPH.

i had seat off today to drill out mixture screw, it was running lean not rich, the black on the plug was gone, i adjusted the mixture and now it does not ping or misfire at all. with the seat off and the engine running i could hear it knocking at the center of the engine and rattling from the CVT. it doesn't knock while riding, only idling, it always rattles no matter what from the CVT and it seems to be the variator but it works fine.
august 9th is my safety class for my M endorsement and then i will have officially gotten my motorcycle license. maybe a honda 150cc but not a chuckus lol. i may just get myself a used honda helix.

i passed the safety class the engine sounds like i dumped a cup full of screws into it but it handled the ride to and from and the whole 5.5 hours of the course. on the way home it was cutting out a lot, i would hit throttle and the engine would die and recover once i let off, if i hold it WOT it would die then come back but was holding back. i have to give propel credit for the way they built the engine, it sounds like the parts want to fall out but it still starts, runs and drives when most chinese engines would stop running. i need to find a decent engine for it, i would love to find one used even if it was upgraded as long as it runs without vibration,

engine swaps i usually wear a blind fold lol. rebuilding a 150 is a lot more work than a 50cc but still easy. thought about rebuilding my engine but i could save money and aggravation by just getting a 200cc engine.

spent a few hours today replacing a very loose oil pump chain. the rattling inside the engine is gone BUT the variator is still noisy so i have to buy a new one. i still have to get a better quality carb for it. i am wondering if the cheapo chinese carb is causing it to lose power at WOT when it is hot.

Have you taken the variator out to look at? could just be the plastic guides are worn and or gone. That would make noise. Also would effect the speed if not opening up proper so the belt travels smooth.

the engine block is still good. i will have the variator out when i take apart the engine, last time i checked it was all intact and the guides were good, the engine blew yesterday afternoon. i am still unsure how this is going to pan out, i put scooter up for sale as is with bad engine. i can't afford even a used engine, i want to take it apart and find out why it blew to begin with, what exactly went wrong.
