i pulled the engine today, tomorrow i will be taking it apart and i know i will have fun getting the kick start gear off of the crank. i have the variator off and it is totally shot, the drive face/fan is all grooved from when i was rolling and the engine would stop while it was still engaged. the bando belt did not suffer any damage at all. i tried starting the engine before i pulled it, i tried kick and starter and it would turn over slowly but not start, at least it did not seize so taking apart will be easy.
i am ordering a new top end (non egr) a new crank and a new variator and it is under $200. i was able to raise $200 so HOPEFULLY i will be back on the road next week. i went to DMV today and turned in my permit and got the M on my license.
i will post pics of the damaged parts once i have it apart.

mother f&^%er, i got the engine apart, the oil pump chain had a couple links bind up, tore the gear off the pump, overheated and blew the engine. i know for a fact i installed the chain properly. the knock was coming from a weak connecting rod bearing, it was not the cause of it's demise. luckily the block was not damaged and i can fix the engine.

crank does not fit! the bearings seat all the way like they are supposed to but the side cover won't go flush. i had to order another one from the same guy i got the other parts from. the guy that sent the crank probably carries garbage parts.

engine runs very good, no pinging at all, no cutting out. ordering a new block today that will bring it up to 180cc. comes with block, top end, gaskets, cam and timing chain. i should have a little more power, it is the larger 150 B block.
