Ok, so, whenever I accelerate from a stop sometimes I hear a little squeak whenever the engine rears up. It sounds like a cherp from a cricket. I think it has something to do with the moving parts in the cvt that are making it shift. What do you guys think it might be?

check your belt for wear, it may have worn where it is not as wide. that will cause it to slip before it grips the variator. like upgrayed says, make sure you service the transmission, put in some new gear oil. you should also check the rollers for flat spots.

Ya I've changed the gear/transmition oil a couple thousand miles ago. They said the belt looked fine then, it's got 5000 miles on it so it's probably time for a new belt

No I haven't done that. But I can tell there's a lot of dirt in there because I was trying to remove the belt cover today and when if got my hand under the cvt cover I could feel a lot of rubbery dust. Maybe from cvt belt? I was unable to remove the whole cover, because it was really hard to pry off and I didn't want to force it.

Make sure you have all the bolts out. A lot of covers have a bolt in the center that can be hidden behind the kick start lever. A good tap with a rubber mallet should free it up once all the bolts are out.

A few weeks ago, I had a similar "chirping/cricket " sound you described on acceleration. I messed around with a lot of different stuff (including strategic greasing, oiling, etc.) but my ultimate fix was to deglaze the clutch pads. I used an electric sander with 200+ grit sandpaper. I thought I'd post the tip because no one had suggested it yet.
