The clutch springs are probably worn or I've seen the holes in the shoes the springs go into become elongated. If the holes are not round you'd need a new clutch if the holes are round and not elongated then new springs should do it.

That contra spring may be too stiff depending on your motor. Is it a stock cylinder and exhaust? I can't tell what deep cut your talking about. The pulleys should slide freely and the clutch bell should be smooth and not glazed. The older clutches were 2 shoes and the springs should be tight. Hope this helps.

yes sir its all stock, the pulley is sliding freely but i have no way of telling if the groove on the pulley are still good, because it doesn't have a pin to separate. sir is it ok if i change my clutch shoes to a 3 piece one? attached photos are the deep cuts on the pulley shaft. is this ok? no worries on this?

Looks like the contra spring has been digging in it. I'd put a stock contra in and replace that base. It may take some work but it will slide up and off. You can put a three shoe clutch on just make sure to get one with the same diameter as the clutch bells inner diameter or order a new bell that matches.

Thank you so much...I found what my problem was. The contra spring I was using (red one) is to short. It measured 70mm my standard spring should be at least 109mm so this is why my clutch is not engaging enough. again I would like to thank you.

A lot if the stiffer springs are shorter. There's no need for a red spring on a stock set up. The contra shouldn't have an effect on the clutch engagement though. That's the clutch springs job. Hope you get it sorted out.
