I bought a 13pc. set of HF high speed drill bits w/the hex end for quick change. In My Opinion they're CRAP! I was trying to drill 20g and this happened.

By the way this is the first time I've ever seen a drill bit bend. Break yes bend no.

Sure you didn't knock it with your hammer? JK. HF bits and such I buy as disposables mostly, or use them on soft items like wood or plastic. I have some Ryobi bits if I need or I'll just go by real carbide bits if it calls for it. Rarely do I do much metal work/fabrication on the account of I live in an apartment and have limited work space. They guarantee their hand tools but I doubt their bits and such. I bet it's another case of China strikes again. Sorry bro.

Yeah those bits suck. I bought a set on sale knowing they would but they are worse than I imagined. Mine either broke or spun the shafts.

I have a few of those that came in a larger set. I found that none of them are realy centered and a couple i spun right out of the hex attachment. And yes the harbor freight bits snap and dull fast, but ive never seen one bend like that.

When I last picked up bits at HF, there were a few options better than the cheapest bits, priced accordingly. Have had good luck with the titanium coated M2 bits, but I have not tried to drill steel yet. The tungsten carbide ones looked decent, but were close to what I'd expect to pay to get a set from Craftsman or similar. My bits were a bit cheaper than better known brands, but the quality looks to be pretty decent so far. Will report back if I do some drilling in steel, or get them to fail unexpectedly.
