verticle 2 stroke installed a 59cc bbk & performance air filter runs great on center stand up to WOT no problem but when riding it bogs down @3/4 throttle
tuned carb and have carb needle clip at max rich slot
bike had same cylinder size before and ran fine - only thing different is air filter. Is it possible the performance air filter is causing this issue?

When you add a free flow air filter, you will usually need to upjet. I would suggest installing a larger main jet and tweaking the idle mixutre setting if you haven't already.

:skull: thx for welcome sign
never did an upjet not sure what jet i have even or what, where to get bigger jet
That would cause the bogging under load condition but not while running on centerstand?

I guess I could replace the stock air filter until i upjet. what increase in performance would i expect from an upjet and what size to upjet to?
So that indicates that too much air intake on performance filter as oem is more restrictive?

Air filter and upjet is a miniumal gain in performance and a pretty good gain in volume level. You will probably end up with a jet 10-15% larger than what is ideal for the stock airbox. Sorry bout the wrong link. I had that one copied for anoither thread and my keyboard sucks sometimes. It is possible to drill a jet... 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=carb&action=display&thread=365

When drilling jets go in steps. Don't try to hog out all the material at once if a very substantial size change is being effected. Use progressively larger bits. This makes breaking a bit much less likely and helps keep the hole true. Beware the bits from Harbor Freight - they are extra brittle and you have to buy a bunch of odd sizes you don't need in their assortment pack. After you arrive at your desired hole size spin the bit a few turns in the hole to help smooth the bore.

I should be able to restrict the performance air filter as a test? It is alot louder so may not be worth the minimal gain.

Not really worth it on a stock scooter IMO.

stock air filter back on and running good , not as fast. After a new top end, is scooter speed 100% or will it improve? First run out did not get to same speed as old top end.

It may improve slightly once it's broken in.

scooter has very little low end power now. the engine runs and idles fine just no low end power the new rings and cylinder seem to be doing ok it is not bogging down as before

Is it the exact same setup or something a little different?
