Just joined the forum and have found a lot of useful tips. I'm new to scooters as I just got a used 2009 Keeway Venus 50. The old owner forgot to mix oil into the gas and seized the piston. I bought a Hoca bbk, variator, and clutch as well as a new performance intake with CF reeds, a 21mm PWK carb, no rev limit CDI, performance coil, and an ebay performance muffler. Was looking forward to taking it out for a spin but will trying to tune the variator, the needle bearing gave out and seized the piston as well as gouging the cylinder wall. $165.00 down the tubes, just like that. Not wanting to spend another $165.00, I bought a bbk off ebay for $65.00 shipped and a wiseco bearing off of Amazon to prevent another major failure.
Considering all of the above parts and 7 gram sliders, what type of performance can I expect as well as top speed with a 198 lb rider? Forgot to mention the clutch is 1500.
Thanks for any input and it's great to be apart if this wonderful forum.

to the forum. Did you check out the crank and make sure the conrod and crank bearings all move freely and without much play? Would be a good idea after a seize, or really any time you have the top end off it doesn't hurt to check. If it's a decent pipe and the BBK is setup well and all is in tune you should be able to see 50MPH anyway and acceleration should be greatly improved from stock.

Welcome! I think you'll need an expansion chamber pipe to see real top speed gains. I don't know what the gear ratio is in your Venus so a guess at top speed would be hard. With decent gearing maybe 50mph but with a good pipe 55+. You can check the gear ratio by marking the clutch and rear wheel and noting how many turns of the clutch it takes for the wheel to make a full revolution.

My Venus was 11.08:1, but it's a short case so small diameter tires. I was doing ~9000RPM at 50MPH with a 90cc that peaked at 9000-9200RPM. Much beyond 50 I had to over rev.

I forget that at 140lbs I'm a feather weight and that's a big factor in top speed. There's a lot of wind resistance once speeds start getting up there too.

Thanks for the welcomes and response. The crank and con rod are just fine. The exhaust is an expansion type and the Venus is a short case with 10" wheels. I really don't know how fast this scooter was stock as it was not running when I got it and since I had to replace the head, cylinder, and piston, I figured why not just build it up from the get go. At least now I have a ball park figure of what to expect for speed and perhaps make it a goal to obtain if my tuning should fall short. Thanks again for the input.

Welcome. Can't say exactly what your top speed is, but with 10" wheels it will be less than if you had 12 or 13". But better accel.

You talking about kelaguen or BBQ? I guess it really wouldn't matter, both are good eats.
