Get an 85. You should get several jets actually.

Yeah, I've been searching for a decent priced jet kit. Pisses me off that I have four different jet types now. Wish they were less complicated and interchangeable. What's this third jet for on these clones? I've only dealt with the two

It's the starter jet. Never ever saw anyone that had to change it. It should be a 60.

You are correct, 60. Is that off of the choke?

hey guys sorry I havent updated, it still sitting in my garage. things I have to do: - Get new battery
- Probably new gas
- get solder for squish clearance
- tinker with engine shroud to get the thermocouple to fit through it
- ensure stator is functioning
- ensure temp display gauge is working
- rejet/tune rollers?
thats about it, hopefully it works. oh and one important question I didn't think of before: I have the display gauge hooked up to the AC circuit of the stator/rectifier. Does it care if it gets 12v DC vs. 12v AC?

Needs to see DC or you'll "let the magic smoke out"!!

So gonna do this in two phases
phase I: install new battery drain fuel if needed install new plug measure squish (should be good) start it up, as long as it runs/revs should be done with phase I
then onto phase II: wire up the temp display modify shroud to accept spark plug temp wire tune jetting tune rollers etc.
Also, I'm going to postpone both phases until
a) it gets cooler (it was 85 today!) b) I have some money to work with.

bought new plug.
Is a squish test mandatory? it only came with one gasket. Am I wrong to assume squish is correctly set from factory? Went by lowes and advance auto parts today to try to find solder. Advance auto parts had 3/32" for $5.99 which was too big I thought and lowes had some a bit smaller probably 1/16" but it was $9.99 and didn't really feel like spending that.
I've rotated the piston using the fan/flywheel and it feels fine/no hitting the head, suction feels fine.

You should try Harbor Freight or Radio Shack for solder. If you want to travel a bit, Skycraft in Winter Park probably is the cheapest place around here

I think squish check is quite important on a tuned ride like yours! Can answer a lotta questions... Some folks oil up some modeling clay and squash that.. might b kinda hard to measure accurately though... ;P

We used modeling clay back in the 70's,it worked good, cut with razor and measured thickness, had young eyes then, now I like solder,,squash it, digital caliper it,adjust as needed!!

alright ill make the effort then, radioshack might not even sell that stuff anymore since they've become best buy 2.0, I wonder if they're even still open haha.
harbor freight shows some online for $3.49 and it looks small so i'll go pickup that

After i messured now, i am down to 0.85, thats as low i would go for road use
