So no amount of tuning helped it. After riding for a while it stopped idling and runnin g at idle throttle, when I stopped it it did the same thing as before. Guessing because of the more oil heavy gas that kicked in after the 80:1 gas was used. I've given up at this point with amsoil. Bought some maxima racing oil to try. I really feel like the amsoil is the problem.

Oh yeah it will happen. That plastic is going to break down and crack from heat, uv rays and gas. If your worried about noise than run the stock air box or an enclosed pod filter like a Doppler alien eye. he could just drink a bottle of gatorade a week and replace it for cents

I'm telling you that the air filter on Tgb scoots are important you will never run right without a air filter I bought an alieeye Doppler and my Tgb runs 51 mph GPS with an mrp pipe and mid stock motoforce 50cc kit,I had same issues before I put stock air box back on then I switched too the Doppler she runs like a champ ; )

amsoil is great I've always ran it in all my Tgb scoots and so has my brother and the oil is great

The wife can't get mad if someone abandoned scoots at your house.

Maybe I got a bad batch of AMSoil then? It's not the air filter or anything like that. It ran perfect before I switched oils. I really don't understand...

Maybe I got a bad batch of AMSoil then? It's not the air filter or anything like that. It ran perfect before I switched oils. I really don't understand... Are you premixing in the gas tank of the scooter..or in a gas can? Gas can. Here's something that makes me think it's the oil even more: "That is, the “oil-presence" inside a two stroke drops significantly as the operating rpms increase." therefore at the higher RPMs where I'm not having a problem the oil isn't as much there. Also another thing that makes me think its an oil-engine problem is that at 0-1/8 throttle it's fine as long as its above like 5 or 6k RPM. once the RPMs get below that it's harder to take off. Anyways I bought Maxima Super M an ester based synthetic blend for high performance 2 cycles for premix. Recommends 24:1-32:1 for 50cc. Will try 0.5gal mixed at 32:1 tommorow and report results. Also bought another spark plug as I wasn't sure if the oil fouled this new one again. All I can say is that if it turns out being the oil I will be extremely disappointed with AMSoil, having to replace two spark plugs and a waste of a quart of oil. EDIT: one other thing. Who here has used AMSoil saber specifically in scooters besides brent? just curious; Jwhood you said you ran amsoil in tgb, but was it saber?

I've ran it all, dominator, saber and interceptor all worked great,I mix mine with the gas at gas station,I use about 2.94 ounces per fill up,also your reeds might be bent bad,I notice mine would run like crap and was hard too start because the tips of the reeds where letting too much fuel in,I went with Athena carbon fiber reeds and the throttle response and bad running issues were resolved, its a beotch getting the manifold off so just wanted too give you a heads up,f.morini should be hung and beat for putting the manifold directly under the engine mount,if its not your homemade air filter its most likely the reeds or a leak, how many miles you have on it?Also if its a 2006 or before they are known for crank seals going bad, that's another source where an air leak could come from!!!

It is a 2006. like 950 miles. I really think the problem is related to the oil as it was running fine the moment before I put the new gas in with the saber mixed in. I guess it could be something else but it would be strange for it to happen out of the blue with such low miles right as I switched oils I was premixing with.
Also it seems the problem gets better with the less oil used. With the 80: it would just do lower RPMs bad but once running it would be fine. When the 32:1 kicked in it started hanging even more at low RPMs and would take even longer to throttle up to the higher RPMs.
Now with that said, wouldn't that pinpoint the problem to the oil or something related to the oil?

most likely not oil related at all. sounds like an air leak and less oil in the gas just makes it run better because its more gas. its a china engine with cheap seals, try a spray test or build a leak down system for it.

I'll check for leaks if this new oil does the same.
