make sense, thanks Jwhood!
if I can get the gears pressed it doesn't seem like this will be that hard at all.

Yeah I would make sure you can find a local machine shop, cause I've done been there with pressing gears its a bastard!!!!

Ok so my helicoil kit finally shows arrived in orlando, should be out tommorow.
I don't have a tap wrench, what else can be used to tap a hole? I saw a video of someone using a drill but it doesn't like the safest way to go about doing it.

Best bet is getting that tap. Very delicate process this is as I apparently didnt do mine right the first or second time l

went ahead and decided I should make an offer on those gears on ebay as theres only one available and its alot cheaper than anything else I've seen shipped from overseas.
Excited to see how much more top speed I can get out of it. I know I can get something out of it because I've been able to cruise at 54mph @9200-9300ish and I've also with different roller weights seen 50mph @ 9700-9800 and why that is important is because the peak power I felt was at 8800 or 8900. There's a gradual build up of power from 8k up to there, but after about 9k it drops of by a lot. This makes me think there is extra mph up there it can climb to just need higher gears.
Hopefully you will see me make an ammend to my scoot speed list entry!

Love your need for speed. I'm the opposite of go fast. I like to spin tires and travel everywhere wide open. The restrictive principle of scooters allows me to achieve that without being harassed by policy enforcers.

Yeah, I don't think I could ever ride a motorcycle, would probably kill myself with all that speed hehehe Picked up this set of tap wrenches for $8 from HF Bought this Gasket from local scooter shop for $5. Was told it was NCY It fits! Seller of those gears responded back to my offer with basically 5 euros below asking price, then says that shipping to the us is 20 Euro (on the auction it says 15 euro). Found another shop that will sell it to me for 32 euro + 25 euro shipping so I'll see what happens...

So I got the kit and basically messed it up the worst I could =( drilled through the entire mounting flange and then tapped not far enough in so it had 1-2 coils sticking outside the surface. I think I fixed it though, I cut off the excess coils and used a file to make the surface flat. Here it is installed Took it on that bumpy road to stress test it, looks like it held up One thing I noticed is that it is near impossible to get it started now. It also shifts like 500-800 RPM lower now. Not sure if rich condition because I removed the exhaust leak and that extra air isn't present anymore OR if the exhaust being mounted better changed the RPM where the pipe hit and I need to retune. Going to look at the spark plug once it cools down.

So yeah fixed the exhaust leak, its on there REALLY tight now shouldn't come off. but now it won't start. It took forever to start the first time, and once it started acted fine. Here's spark plug switched to 95MJ nothing switched to 85MJ nothing. turns over but no starting even tried one of my old BPR7HS that was cleaner and still nothing. don't know what it is but I noticed that the RPM gauge no longer shows the RPM when its starting, idk if that is because the wire I wrapped around the ignition coil has gotten loose over time, or I am having spark/cdi issues. It's too hot out there to work on it now, I'll check later. Any ideas? thinking of maybe getting another spark plug as maybe the BPR7HS I tried wasn't any good either, don't really trust it. EDIT: ordered a spark plug off of autozone.com because they are running a free shipping no minimum thing so for $2.50 I really can't pass it up. Is it possible that by having the exhaust properly seal to the cylinder its increased the compression to the point where the starter motor can't spin it fast enough to start?

Loving all the pics! I would guess that it's running richer now. If you had it tuned to run with an exhaust leak ya it's probably rich now. Plug looks rich. Does it start with kick start? I actually lost RPM and top speed when I went to taller gears- need to port my cylinder for higher RPM's...

Yeah I had it tuned to run before but now it won't even start with an 85MJ think the plug is fouled. When it did start last time though it didn't act rich really so its confusing. Can't test kick start as I don't have the assembly installed and don't feel like starting it with that. The starter motor sounds like its turning the engine over so I'm not sure what difference it would make. Yes I will lose RPM when I get taller gears, but I can account for that by retuning with lighter roller weights. I will also likely lose some takeoff because the clutch will engage at a higher "MPH" if that makes sense. don't really plan on losing top speed, worst case I at least see 55mph.

It takes hardly any time to check for spark and cross that off of your list, so you might as well do that first IMO.
You may have a mixture issue, but the exhaust should not be causing compression related problems.

checked for spark on all the plugs, nothing. Was using the piece of frame that runs across the scooter that the seat bucket screws into.
I'ts possible that the old CR7HS plugs are just busted, I tried cleaning them really well with some industrial cleaning solution and I feel it may have made them non-conductive.
anyways, didn't see a single spark.
