interesting. Mine is an 8 pole, your r50x is a 6 pole? I wonder what the range of the recall is for because it only lists the 4 pole stator part number (can't even find the other stator kinds anywhere in parts manual) So I went to HF and picked this up  Went to hardware store and picked up some bolts and fender washers  The washers are the perfect size   You can probably see the issue here... Looks like the bolts I got weren't long enough. Will have to run back and get some longer ones. Will keep updated with pics! |

Yes the bolts need too be atleast 5inchs long so you have room try too keep it as even as possible

Tested resistances
Yellow/Blue (Pickup) read 156 ohm
Black/Red (Coil) reading 7 mohm
service manual says black/red should read 224kohm(0.224mohm)+/- 20%.
it says nothing however on the pickup. Does this seem reasonable?
Also looks like I'll have to repair this stator as finding a TGB 8 pole stator is pretty much impossible.
Also tested spark plug boot to ground resistance:
12kohm
manual says spec 5k-7.6kohm with limit 3kohm.

From what I read on the tech bulliten it says something about just replacing the end I don't know how that would fix it

Any idea what would cause the resistance of the coil/stator coil to go up by that much? I mean what do I expect when I take off the flywheel. Is it just a simple rewrapping of the ignition coil on the stator?
Jwhood I've given up looking for the stator I don't think it exists. I don't have a part number to search for so it really is impossible to find it. You might have luck contacting harry from whidbeyislandmopeds he probably knows how to get one.

Well I'm super confused now.
Plug cap showing too high a resistance.
Stator Coil showing too high a resistance
checked the two leads going to rectifier from the stator both showed exactly 1.0 ohm
I'm lost I have no idea what the issue is.
Jwhood which CDI did you buy?

I bought one from aliexpress it was supposed too be adjustable but they sent me a 5 pin non adjustable derestricted parts for scooters has them,scrappys even has one on eBay
