I remember 32:1 I think, so pretty sure it was oil. If you don't remember it though then I guess I remembered it wrong must have been some other ratio. Yeah, I see different ratios too. Not sure what the purpose was, maybe to compensate how each one flows through the jet? Viscosity difference perhaps? Do you know which video I'm talking about? I'd love to find it again. And also @ Brent: That magazine or whatever it was article was interesting but I don't know how much creedence I can give to it because it was written in the 70s and I'm sure oils have changed and engines at least some.

Yeah he was just comparing the effects of different ratios for the oil. I was talking about a video I thought I saw.

Well I have no idea what happened. I had about 0.3 gallons left so I filled up 1.5 gallons of gas mixed at 48:1 with the AMSoil saber. Started fine but once I got going the takeoff was horribly rich. I turned the idle screw nearly all the way out and it still was a bit rich. At least I think it was rich. When taking off it would stumble and stutter often moving then stopping and then launching slowly. very jerky takeoffs. Mid and full throttle were fine but noticeably a bit less speed. Oh and won't start without throttle. So I went to the store, got back on it to leave and get about halfway home. Come to a light and it dies at idle. Only starts with throttle still and this time it doesn't takeoff at all. Full throttle makes it rev up and then die and no throttle kills it also. In between will hold it less than the takeoff RPM but doesnt do anything and sounds REAL rich. So at this point I have no choice but to walk it about 2.5 miles home. When I got to a lit part of the neighborhood I looked at it and started it again and took a video: onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=223B8EC2873B1C96!4866&authkey=!AIsG5sumLxEDPeg&ithint=video%2cmp4 So right after this vid I decided to hold the throttle mid position and it slowly went up in RPMs eventually it took off and was fine again at mid-full throttle. I'm guessing I flooded the engine by starting it with the throttle open? Not really sure what to do at this point because the throttle screw is out almost all the way and I can't go leaner than that. I'm thinking about just adding the right amount of oil to make what I put in the same ratio as before?

Was it smoking a lot? Saber is some thick stuff and I've found I have to shake the scoot while I pour it in or sometimes it will not mix. It does something similar to what yours did, but I can definitely tell there's too much smoke. It'll clear up once the glob of oil-rich fuel is used. Then you're left wondering how much actual oil is in there. With a clear filter, I can look under the scoot and see the issue.

Yeah it was smoking a lot. I went ahead and added 2 oz. of oil to the tank.
I'll shake it up tommorow and then start it and see if it is any better.

Ok so it did the same thing again today. Starts up fine, but once it gets going the 0-1/8 throttle position is horrible. If you lay off throttle the engine dies and if you give it a bit of throttle its very rough and "catches" rest of throttle is fine. Then when you get to a stop it will die. When you start it it does the same thing. There is some smoke but not as much as what yours was. Sometimes it just sticks with 1-3k rpm and dies if you rev it up fast or no throttle. sometimes it will "catch" and start to accelerate and then once you hit like 5 or 6k it will takeoff and act normal (except for 0-1/8 throttle). Here's a video I took right before it died and wouldn't accelerate again when I turned it on: onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=223B8EC2873B1C96!5026&authkey=!AFpj5LTdbgUUVgA&ithint=video%2cmp4 I've shaken the scoot multiple times to mix up the tank. nothing helps. I really don't know what to do. Going to search up AMSoil to see anyone else had this kind of issue. Should I just drain the tank and start over? Can't believe switching to a better oil would give me troubles, and just in time for the weekend. EDIT: Is it possible the pilot jet is clogged with something? Maybe an oil rich part of the gas clogged the pilot jet with oil? is that even possible?

I doubt you'd clog a jet with oil.
That does seem pretty similar to what mine did at times. If you have a clear filter or lines, take a look. If it looks blue in there kinda like the pic I posted above, you aren't gonna shake it and make it right. There isn't enough fuel around it to mix properly. Every time it's happened to me I've had to keep it running and revving or riding around a lot till it cleaned itself out (always been when I'm away from home). If you've rode it much and it continues, it may not be that the glob of oil or oil-rich fuel is sitting in the lines or filter.
When I say shake it, I mean as you pour the AMSOil in you should be moving the scoot around. Not just after. The AMSOil is good oil IMO, but it's thick.

This really makes me need to figure out a way to strap my little camera to my helmet for times like this. You guys holding your phones/cameras in your hand while riding are MAKING ME NERVOUS!!! I thought you were going to wreck for a few seconds there!

I thought you were going to wreck for a few seconds there! Ah nah its all good most likely just me holding the left side of the scoot while holding the phone to take that left turn. I have an old phone I've thought about duct taping to my helmet haha. Brent, I've got 15 miles on it so far. Should I just keep riding it till It clears up? I'll probably do a tear down tommorow and see if the fuel lines/filter/carb looks clogged or anything. What can explain the normal behavior at 1/2-WOT? I mean, if it's oil rich, why does it only effect the idle? Shouldn't that oil rich glob effect the rest of it also?

In 15 miles it should have cleared out a little glob of oil. I was thinking perhaps the generally richer low throttle settings were delivering an awful lot of oil and maybe that made it act up there, but in 15 miles for it to still be doing it the whole tank would have to be over-mixed or something. How many oz did you add total to the tank?

Maybe the fuel filter or lines are clogged? What ratio should I be using with this stuff?

It's worth taking a look at the lines and filter. If it looks dark blue, there's an oil issue for sure. Looking at the spark plug may show you if there's been lots of oil burned.

I think Brent mixes 50:1 with that oil. ?

Yeah, I use it at 50:1. It did well at 40:1 when I tried that. I don't think there should be any problem mixing it 32:1 as long as it's mixed evenly.
