When i bought my scooter the 1st thing i did was to install EGT sensor, its mostly used on karts, snowmobiles, dirtbikes and tuned cars but hardly ever used on 2t scooter tuning, why? I would think that constantly fixing seized engines sure costs more than 25$ on EGT probe & gauge. Its great for tuning but will also warn you when you have developed some air leak that will seize the engine. Yea you can tune by looking at the plugs, but in my experience, you just cant trust plugs, ive done test runs and the plug looks fine but the EGT tells different. this is what i use: www.ebay.com/itm/52mm-2-Exhaust-Gas-Temperature-Temp-Gauge-EGT-2-12-X100C-O2-Sensor-VN-/261539699705?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3ce4fb1bf9&vxp=mtrInstalling is simple too.Just drill a hole in the exhaust, about 4" away from the cylinder, weld a piece of small pipe on the hole, then thread the pipe so EGT will screw in and then place the gauge somewhere. EGT should be aimed at 600ºC(1112.0ºF) , anything over 650ºC(1202.0ºF) will get you a new piston.

Nice. Haven't seen many people running EGTs on scoots. Most of us have CHTs. I like having something that I can look down at and get an idea of what's up even if something strange happens on the road. For example... "Feels like it's running lean now." Look down at elevated CHT and verify. Can't really do that with a plug so easy.

Don't know about that particular unit, but I've been pleased with the wideband on my TaoTao. When I first used it I tuned how I normally would anyway, but recorded air/fuel ratios along with the jetting, speed, and RPM. That way I could kinda check if it's giving me numbers I'd expect. The O2 protrudes so much, at least on my 50, that it would block most of the pipe off with a standard bung. They don't show a bung in that listing, but you may wanna pick up one a bit longer than normal.
