You gonna check it out? If anyone goes, I'd love to see some pics or vids. Sounds like a really cool event.

Yeah I think I might just check it out. It would be fun to take my scooter out on the lake. Not to race just putt it around from pit to pit. I don't have a video camera. Can someone recommend a cheap decent one?
6 years or so ago I went to El Mirage dry lake for a model rocketry contest and the wind started blowing at around 60 mph Sat. afternoon and didn't let up all weekend creating a super fine sand storm. It was miserable because we camped in the back of a truck with a shell on it Sat. night and the noise was intense not to mention the truck was getting rocked by the wind gusts. We stayed til noon on Sun. hoping it would calm down but ended up leaving just to get away from the dust. I hope I never have to repeat that again.

I haven't looked at cams for a while, so I don't really have much good advice. I do know Tiger Direct tends to have lots of good deals on all sorts of electronics and they are a good company to deal with. Might wanna click on the price range that you are interested in and see which ones have the features that interest you the most. www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Category/guidedSearch.asp?CatId=444160MPH sand storm... who needs paint anyway? :bfg:

If you are wanting inexpensive, you are not going to have production quality videos anyway and most digital cameras have a video mode. I suggest just getting a bunch of memory for your present digital camera and using that. Assuming you have one you like.

I can make video's with my camera but the sound sucks. I prefer to get something that is made to only shoot video.

Yeah. I chose my digital cam because it got great reviews on its pics and it does HD video. It does do good video, but only if nothing is moving fast and you don't want great sound. Most of the digital cams don't have a good steady shot feature. It doesn't seem to deal well with low light either. I still use my old MiniDV camcorder when I need to shoot video. I'd rather watch in standard def with decent sound and smooth motion.

I'm gonna have to get real busy or I won't be able to afford to even go to the meet. I just got a new printer and a new RC Helicopter that I wrecked on the third time out. Not bad but it cost me $40 for the damn parts.
