what up guys?... well i can officially say that i added a mod and maintence to my scoot thanks to this forum here.....i drilled 3 3/16in. holes in my clutch to lighten the wieght... works better in my book... thinking of taking it to a 3/8in hole to get the max rpm.. i also redone my t.d. wow, what a difference that alone made.....thanks guys, my mod list is steadily growing.... anyway, the reason for this thread: i have YET to get my exhaust ported out. i believe i can handle the porting of the hole to size match gasket, BUT my issue comes here.. i want to raise 1mm and widen 1mm on each side.. anybody have any sweet tips for me. i cant get inside the cyl. i assume it has to be done from the inside?. how to measure? a port map of exhaust, then scribe the cyl for the 1mm? or is the rt angle attachment the key?. my next bolt on mod will be a reed cage/intake/carb kit... could get 3-4mph if i can ever get my exhaust opened..CAN hit 53(on a good day)..lmao. ANY help is appreciated guys.. thanks in advance..

Glad to hear the mods are coming along well so far. Once you open the exit of the port to match the header, you should be able to get to the entrance from the outside (I'm assuming you are using a dremel or similar rotary tool). I just mark where I want the roof of the port and how far out I wanna go on the sides with a marker. I measure with a digital caliper, like the one in the link below. You can see in the pic there, that a piece slides in and out of the bottom that you can use to measure down in the cylinder. Otherwise, you can find a thin flexible metric ruler pretty cheap most likely. The more correct way would be to mod a port map and scribe it onto the cylinder I suppose. Keep the shape of the port close to stock. Make sure everything is rounded to some degree to keep the rings healthy and put a good chamfer on the port once it's opened up how you want it. www.harborfreight.com/6-inch-digital-caliper-47257.html

hey, thanks for a reply.. i have a set of calipers, not those. i just grabbed mine, i dont have any measurements on my end piece. i was wondering how i was suppose to do that...i had actually thought about remaking a port map, make the necessary measurements, then try and scribe/stratch the new size for the dremel(yeah, i have a dremel)..i wanted to do this last time i had it apart but i was tooooo chicken...lmao. its the only cyl.i have, my 1st time so idk. this is a major, FREE(if i can do it)mod from what i understand.. alot befter performance and some top. i still want a "bad ass stocker", i think i am well on my way for a small ass zx..lmao.(of course if i had a s9 or a ppl i would be hitting 60+ with my mods)..

With mine, the "end piece" is attached to one of the "jaws". When you move them, it moves so you see a reading. I just set the end flat on the cylinder deck and then open the jaws till that end piece is even with the roof and note the reading. It's really not that hard when you are doing 1mm on the sides and roof. You can retain the basic shape easy that way and you aren't running a big risk of a ring snagging in a huge port as long as you chamfer everything on the cylinder wall side of the port. I've never done it to a stocker (kinda wanted to try it, but at my weight 50cc leaves a lot to be desired). Here's something similar with an aftermarket cylinder that I did a while back. I was very pleased with the results. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=2perform&thread=66&page=2#895

i have some weight on me,(230-5) thats one reason i need to finally get that done...lmao... i finally did see a polini bbk at what i think was a sweet price, but i should be able to bet 3-4mph from that mod. guess ill have to play with measuring my port map and try to get the cohonas together...lmao

The forks themselves should work just fine on the left or right. Hopefully the Super 9 setup will work with the brackets on your stock forks.

hey man, thanks for the reply...i didnt even think/realize when i was taking the s9 caliper off that they are different sides.. the fluid would have to end up going up hill into the caliper. i figured i could just swap em over, the s9 fender is wider which may compensate for the fender bracket being to the outside edge. the caliper bracket LOOKS the same. i can easily find that out today, ill just take mine off to make sure holes line up correct.. just thought a s9 caliper/rotor/wheel/fender and rear adjustable shock would be a nice detailed upgrade to my zx.. (and caliper/shock are red too, to match scoot...lmao)

Bleed nipple should project upwards to let out the lighter air when bleeding.

i was told that it would work but i am with you...trouble with air.+the caliper is backwards on the left.. so, my forks will just cross over???...if so, im good. just cross em and caliper bolts right up.... thought i had an easy upgrade/mod...

I'd like to see the before and after and any other pics that provide insight into the swap. I'd be glad to post 'em for you.
