cool deal..i think i can handle that part..lmao.. ill take some "before" this a.m anyway...i did notice my speedo end "holder",the groove it rests in(thats cast into fork). how will i do that?. dont want to ducttape in posistion....wonder if a touch of jb weld to "build" a groove would suffice?

Hmm. JB Weld may work. It might be easier to glue a couple of pieces down rather than trying to build up layers of JB Weld. Not sure without being able to see it. I'm not sure if I'm thinking of the right part or not.

You dont really need it to hold there. I have one that broke the tab off and it worked until i removed it.

hey guys, yeah hey 90gt, the lil tit/tab that sticks out on the speedo end(that goes into wheel). there is a groove that it rest in ON/IN the inside of the fork.(a little v shape). hey 2strokd, your tab broke and was still good.. i wondered why they even have that tab, seems the "gear" tabs would hold it steady.. i THINK thats my last obsticle...lmao..well, besides ordering brake pads..

It just helps hold the adapter in place so it dosnt get messed up. As long as you dont get it caught up in anything it should be fine. The cable kinda holds it in one place.

what up 2strokd?.... cool deal, i did go back today and get the speedo cable and end from the s9. mine wont work going backwards...lmao.... the brake pads are being ordered tonight(they are wore totally out) from ebay.. i did go ahead with my rear shock upgrade this p.m. i sent 90gt a few pics of that and my homemade "forced air induction" on my fan shroud.. figured that may help keep engine cooler alot more than the fan pulling air sideways... the rear shock was easy to swap but hey,...its an upgrade....lmao i think it looks much better the extra 2in. and the red, thicker shock. hopefully 90gt can/will post pics... thanks in advance again 90gt.... you are the MAN!....(emoticons wont work with my cell either. )......

Looks good. There've been arguments in the past about changing the diameter of the fan's inlet being worth the effects of collecting air as you are. If you notice anything that indicates overheating, switch back.

dude, THANKS for posting those pics for me...i havent seen any ill effects from the air tube...i would think the straight cooler air going right thru would be good regardless....hmmm?, i will keep an eye.. several rides so far indicate it helps, i dont seem to feel as much heat inside the met-in box.i did regrease my t.d. at the same time(which helped a bunch to me, thanks to you).(smoother, easier shifting, noticable difference).

You can mod the exhaust port successfully without measuring, but don't do it if you overestimate how big 1-2mm is. lol Some folks seem to know little about the metric system, so they think that's a 1/4 inch or something. Besides, raising the ports by just measuring a mm is a guesstimation of sorts. What you are actually doing, on top of obviously enlarging the port, is increasing your port duration. Without breaking out the degree wheel, it's all guesswork. Even then, most of us don't really know the exact duration that we should be looking for. This is off topic, but speaking of the metric system reminded me of this and I had to share... My father works at a hardware store. He had a guy come in looking for a 19mm nut. He took it off with a 19mm socket. So my father gives him fine and coarse 12mm nuts to try. Nope, not quite. So my father gives him fine and coarse 1/2 inch nuts to try. The coarse one fits. So he says a I need a 1/2 inch metric bolt to match this.

lOl, Good one Brent!
I actually opened up an exhaust port last night without measuring anything. I just marked roughly 1mm (1/8th inch) with a sharpie and started cutting. I guess i will see if it helps? Cleaning up the port area and opening up the flange to match the exhaust helps!
BTW, jussskiddn bout the 1/8th lol...
