I have a chance to buy a Aprillia SR50 its a 2000 with 3200 miles. I can get it for $1300 he is asking $1500. It is in perfect shape. A $1000 is more my ideal. It has a Horz Min water cooled motor. Or should i go with a Zuma?? I already have a spare motor for a zuma. Thanks for your input.

Water cooled is "cool" but it means more stuff to go wrong.

It is my understanding that tuning EFI SR50s is somewhat complicated and also pretty expensive. Stuff for Zumas is everywhere. While not as attractive or near as good handling, the Zuma would be much less of a headache and easier to live with. Most likely you will need to either up-gear or/and go with an overdrive tranny to get much top speed from the Zuma. Doing away with the SR50's EFI is always an option too. I find the Zuma's fat 10" tires slow-handling and rather ponderous for street riding. If you like to ride unpaved surfaces they are good though. Ed: Yo, wait. Are year 2000 SR50s fuel injected?

Its not an injected model step. I would get the SR since its a carbed mina! That thing could be a beast IMO!
