A couple of weeks ago a good friend decided to take an interest in scooters. He visits me and enjoys turning wrenches when he's hanging out at my shop. So he started looking at a few YouTube videos and got motivated to finally pursue ownership of his own scooter. Lucky for him he has a pal that has a few squirreled away as future projects and he made a selection. He chose my Baccio vx-50 with a 1E40qmb engine. Not a bad choice. When I asked what his intentions were, he simply grabbed a grinder with a cut-off wheel and began sculpting his masterpiece. I understand a puppy dies somewhere in the world whenever a nice scooter gets chopped by an amateur wanna-be customizer but this is what happened... A perfectly stock frame, stripped of it's plastic body and harness. A few tabs, brackets and rails were in the way. The excess parts hit the floor. The end result. No turning back. The brackets that the motor hang from were deliberately removed and are set back 5" inches. this increased the length and lowered the scooter in one operation. After some careful measurement the brackets will be re welded to the frame.

Is the engine touching the floor? That's really low.

The engine is pretty much sitting in it's original position. The frame is slid forward . The center stand will be cut offf when the engine mount and shock are configured in a proper location.

Lowered and stretched scoots aren't really my thing, but I'm all for making stuff your own. Hope he enjoys the process and I'm interested to see how it turns out.

He needed to accessorize his hipster wardrobe by building a scooter. It will accentuate the skinny jeans made popular by today's youth.....

Thank fully a friend from here and a local friend stopped me before I got to that point. But after a wreck, a stolen, and this one I rode one day, and it broke my ankle/leg. It's never enough....frame is ready for welding but making a tank to mount on the floorboard is proving quite a challenge.

The Honda Dio(Not Elite SR) and Rukus both used a floor fuel tank try finding a used one of those they might fit.

I'm copying a Honda metropolitan tank. I just found out it's the same as a ruckus. The frames are the same as well.e
