several factors can come into play here. but pics say a thousand words The squish,as it keeps the explosion up in the dome of the head on top of the piston, and not out in the piston edges.
The timing,if its not pulled out like 2stroked said then that's a probable cause. The octane, what you need is to cc the head and run the numbers from that and the cylinder volume plus stroke to get your compression ratio. there is a calculator in tech for that, my guess would be 100 octane or higher min. 10.5 to 1 is about the limit for pump gas and i'd hafta say your probably up around 12 to 1 or higher.
Installation, thats kinda hard to mess up on a single ring job like this, i would look more for a burr on the cylinder port window

don't forget if you ever get a inner rotor that you need one compatible with a mech. water pump. but your miss on the top end that you couldn't tune away with jetting points to timing problems. ie. miss fire with stock curve cdi. or detonation from timing or octane. I would be hesitant to re fire it, lol when I get the parts if I were You. Man what a gut wrenching feeling. Im damn happy for you that it wasn't worse.i couldnt imagine cuz im sure its actually worse. just to name a few go slow be thorough, clean, complete, ask questions, check squish in a couple spots around, do plug chops, get a compression ratio figure and use appropriate fuel, it might be in the paper work somewhere? figure out your port timings w/ squish set. i know you said you don't have one but you really need a degree wheel. to many could be's & so everything needs to be right and then" if it still does it then you know what it wasn't".......

one last thing those two hole in the piston are lube holes for the exhaust bridge and must face forward, if your piston was in wrong it might put ring end in a port and cause this, again just nkowing what it wasnt help in the right driection

Well I cleaned it up here at work and I think it will run fine there are no scares and I got the aluminum off so I may say the heck with it and run it...and yeah piston and Ring were installed correctly the piston has an arrow on it pointing toward the exhaust, it was getting plenty of oil I just down jeted the other day to a #105 and I should a keep the 120 in it and I would not be in this situation ....but live and learn ya know.... Thanks chuck for the information I'll deff get my degree wheel this go around and get it all right I was rushed the first time because of was so excited he'll I'm still excited lol thanks guys

Heck I only put 18 miles on it and never got it tuned or even close for that matter I could just feel the power every once in a while when it would clear up and take off! That's what I cant wait for ,to get it in perfect tune..now that's when iid have to hold on lol..I will finish cleaning the cylinder with (the works ) tb cleaner and put it all back together...

Unfortunately I will have to purchase another cylinder sigh there is one spot were it messed up the coating and I don't think it will run correct, bit I'm going to build it back witj the old a stuff and see how compression is and everything tsk tsk

Well it runs compression is 160ish I believe it's low I never checked before and it doesn't have that kick it had.....well it will do untill the new cylinder gets here....dang it.. Your right about the timing that has to be the problem I can't get this thing in tune at all I even put my dell on it and still it stuttered like crazy it just will not clear up, I may as well buy an inner rotor as well......
