You split a set of cases before, yeah? I'm just wondering if you'll need the case splitter and crank puller/ installer? Those two tools come to mind

I know that I have to use the hot/cold method to get the bearings in but what about the crank? If I have the installer tool is that gonna work just like that without the hot/cold trick?

I use the hot cold method but I'm so worried about smacking a crank if it didn't sit right that I bought the installer as well. Had to use it a couple times too to center the crank. But I guess if you're careful you can do it with a plastic mallet. I'm just paranoid maybe?

So you're saying I have to use the hot/cold method to get the crank in and evtl use the installer to straighten the crank or can I use the installer all the way from beginning to the end? To get the crank through the bearings is gonna be a super tight fit. Won't that break the bearings?

Never tried it without heating the cases and freezing the bearings. I don't think I would. My thing is that I don't want to be smacking expensive cranks around with a mallet. That's just me. Several of the other guys have. And you might not even need to. I've had several go together really nice and didn't need to do anything.

lol l just wanted to post the same link to that video. He doesn't use any hot/cold stuff. Just put it over, put on the installer and turn that nut. Making sure the rod isn't getting stuck somewhere.
I guess that is what I am gonna do and see how it goes.

See if you can borrow/rent the tool from that fancy schmancy scooter shop you visit all the time. The tool is nearly indestructible so there's not much chance of harming it.

Awesome, didn't realize, or forgot, that you had the tool. They're so nice to have. After watching the videos I'll probably not use the hot cold method and just pull them through.

Damn, scooter attack and maxiscoot are both down. wtf? Yep! Just wanted to place the order for the crank and the site is down. I probably lost the items inside the cart. Maybe some daily server backup or maintenance. In Europe it is in the middle of night now so best time for them to do such stuff.
