On the scoot that my Grandson says is bogging. I have 5 gram sliders. I am 5' 10" and 200lbs. Grandson is 6'5" and 300lbs. Am I correct in assuming that I need to go up in weight on the sliders/rollers, to be more correct for his size? Any ideas/suggestions appreciated. Don B.

I'd drop the weight to keep the revs up. If it's bogging now, it'll just bog worse with heavier sliders. I'm 300lbs as well and I used 4.5g sliders with a 1000RPM contra (so the sliders worked as if they were even lighter) for the best results on my 80cc GY6. BTW, the sliders scrappydog sells as 5g are 4.5g actually, or mine were at least. Just FYI incase you have those. I had a cam and bigger valves and ports to encourage a few more revs, but I think even a stocker should like something fairly light with big guys. I did have decent results with heavier weights, but with the lighter setup I could use less throttle and keep the revs up to pull my weight better at speed.

My sliders are also from Scrappy dog. I ordered 5 grams, but did not weigh them. I am running the stock contra spring. Which I am assuming it is 1000 r's. Don B.

When referring to contra springs, a 1000RPM spring should make the trans work at roughly 1000RPM more than stock. I just call the stockers, stock. lol
