Maybe you can add a similar handle/knob to the corner cabinet or some trim on the bottom to match them up more? I like the trim. Our house has this 2-3" tall trim everywhere so I like seeing the sleek smaller baseboard. I think putting some similar knobs on the drawers is a good plan Brent. It'll tie it all together. Thanks! Im no help here, i like it the way it is.....Is the Mrs. suggesting a change? No she likes it okay it's me staring at the pics for an hour and finding fault where apparently there is none. If you say it looks okay then I'll keep it the way it is because I'm spent both physically and monetarily.

i have to agree with brent, looks real good except the difference in the cabinets. i really like the smaller baseboards. the bigger ones make me think your tryin to hide some mistake or something. i'd have to give it :thumb: :thumb: imo, great job!

Please try and keep it friendly guys. We have a good thing going here without issue between our members. I know I enjoy it that way. I doubt he meant any harm Fox.
If you don't mind sharing, what's illegal about it Bill? Could teach us all something. I sure have no clue. lol

Thanks for popping in to offer that little morsel without any explanation of how it's illegal. Weren't we all just talking about hecklers yesterday... He mentioned in my City Inspector post, he "used" to be an inspector, I agree he needs to clarify if we are going to learn anything from the comment. Input, more input :2cents:

I ain't upset over it Brent. It just isn't much "help" if there's no explanation. It's just a comment and for someone who's logged in in front of a keyboard to take the time to post "Your drain is illegal" and not elaborate as to why seems like he's critiquing rather than trying to be constructive. I feel good about the job if that's all he's got to comment on because the drain drains great. I filled the sink to an inch below the rim and opened it and it drained out in about 8 seconds. Whoooosh! The only thing I can think of that would raise an inspectors red flag is either because the vent comes out the wall and goes horizontally over to the stack on the outside instead of being straight all the way up to the roof or... the new drain pipe is too small. It was 2" and I used 1 1/2" over to the stack under the floor. Either way I'm not changing it. Besides, the house was built long before building codes were as stringent as they are now. The drains in the kitchen ar mickey mouse too. We still use screw-in type fuses for crying out loud!

The floating/wall mounted cabinet is a bit unusual to me and I can think of a lot of advantages but what were your main reasons for going that route? It's all looking great BTW.

The floating/wall mounted cabinet is a bit unusual to me and I can think of a lot of advantages but what were your main reasons for going that route? It's all looking great BTW. Thanks stepthru! I started to put it on the floor but it was way too short and it's only about 18-20 inches from the toilet so your feet would have hit it all the time and it would have gotten dirty and f%&^*# up in no time so I decided to raise it up and mount it to the wall. Now there's foot/legroom when your on the crapper and about an hour ago I realized that it is the perfect spot for the bathroom scale we've had in the bedroom for years. I installed the upper cabinet today. The way it mounts there's a gap on the wall I'll have to fill with a piece of trim. Might have to put the same trim on the lower one so it'll match. Tomorrow shower doors go in and that's it! Shower Sunday after the silicone drys all night. I'll run the space heater all night. Got the knobs on and clear silicone around the escutcheons and water spout and installed the shower head/wand. This little Ikea glass shelf works good here I think: I think I'm gonna change the cabinet behind the toilet eventually but it'll work for now. It holds a lot of stuff and it's paid for. I screwed a pull-out makeup mirror to the side if it. ;D

You utilized the space well. They did not go with a lot of bathroom space back then, water closet? Looks about the same size as I have. Count yourself lucky you don't have a window in there

I'm going to hazard a guess you are talking about the angle of the black PVC waste pipes. I don't know if the building regs are similar over the pond, though.

Woo hoo! Got the shower doors on! I thought it was going to take half the day but it only took about an hour. I bought some clear silicone that says "Rain ready in 3 hours" so I can take a shower tonight! Little bit of trim and some knobs on the plain cabinets and it'll be all done finally. It took a friggin' month and a half. Still have to pick out a little curtain for the window, some towel rods and toilet paper holder but that's my girl's department.

Fox, I do want to say that your workmanship is top notch. You are doing a very quality job. I am sorry if I offended you it was not meant to be that way. Bill
