I live in Tampa too, and I know there's a scooter repair shop with an on-site scooter boneyard on FL avenue. They advertise on craigslist, and claim to work on& have parts for Chinese scoots. I'd start there to try and hunt down that caliper. I found them to be a bit pricey, but pleasant enough (I was hunting for a random non-scooter project). Weather or not it's worth it is another kettle of fish.

even if you put pads on it, its still gonna have a leak. either the o-ring on the pistons bad or the bleeders stripped. either way its gonna have to be rebuilt if its the o-ring or replaced if its a stripped bleeder. the baja sc50's also have wiring issues mainly involving the cdi's. i'm with fox, i'd junk it and find something worth putting some money in. that would your best plan imo.

i appreciate the advice and it will be taken into consideration, if i see this project has become more of a waste of money instead of something productive to spend a hour or so on at night after work it will be parted and scrapped, but for now i look at this scoot as my learning scoot, get messy replace crap most of the parts are around 10-20 bucks cuz the motor works and everything else runs, i use this thing to get me to the corner store and back right now and ride in my neighborhood. or i could throw it back together and sell it for 50 bucks like i said it runs, i got some "homies" that wanna use it for the same reason the other kid did so if all else fails i got somewhere to get rid of it. one guy wants to give me 200 bucks lol but i told him id rather fix it up. ill see if i can get the back brakes to stop squealing so hard i still might do it.

Damn! Where'd you get a set of pads so fast?
Hey man if it runs and all the lights and stuff work then great! It's a good one to learn the basics on. I thought nothing worked.
Anyway, like I said, I have a parts engine and some other stuff for it sitting out in the shop if it breaks down. I'll give all members good prices.

I would definitely get the whole assembly for that price and then you shouldn't have any more leaks + the new pads. The "ABS" isn't necessary, but some may prefer to keep it. It doesn't allow enough brake pressure for the disc to lock. My scoot won't lock the front brake with or without it anyway. I've seen others that will lock the front WITH "ABS". It's a safety feature to keep you from locking up the wheel and crashing. I removed mine mostly because I mess with everything for no apparant reason lol. It's your call at your own risk.

i'm with brent, i'd get the whole assembly, especially at that price. and i was under the same impression that fox was about nothing workin, sorry about that. any scooter that runs is worth something, especially for learning.

so i put on the new one, with some innovative skills (had to take the abs connectors from my old one and attach it to the new one which i had no idea i had to do) ,but its on and bled and working, but my next thing is can i increase the stopping power without it costing me a lot and having to get a new brake kit. And now that the front brakes are done. Should i a) stop the back brakes from squealing, b) silence the exhaust damn thing is loud c) something else?

Not sure about increasing your stopping power cheap. I'm fat and have no real trouble with my front disc scoots at 50-60MPH, so I've never tried to improve them. Anything I can think of wouldn't be cheap.
I'd vote for A and B. Try removing the rear wheel and sanding the drum and shoes with emery paper. That might do it. You can check the cable, spring, lever, etc.. too and make sure it isn't squeaking when it moves. The exhaust will prob be a cheap fix too. Check the header and muffler nuts or bolts and be sure they're secure. If they are fine see if you can tell if there's a leak at the header or muffler connection or if it just seems like a loud muffler.
