Hey all, I am new to this forum and new to mopeds/scooters, I was given a 49cc chinese scooter but i dont know anything about scooters im more of a car person but i LOVE the scooter is so fun. Im like 80% sure its a 4 stroke but im a noob so i dont wanna mess it up untill i get some good advice. ill be back on tonight to post a couple of pics of it because it needs some TLC and i think its a project id like to take on. My main thing is its so loud!! front brakes dont work back brakes sound like nails on a chalkboard, i have to kick start it (dead battery i think) missing a mirror and a few minor things. i hope i can get this project started even taking on a extra job to buy the parts and tools.

The 2T scoots usually have a seperate 2 cycle oil tank and an oil injector that meters the oil into the carb. Look for an oil tank/cap under the seat.
Note: The injector may have been removed/disabled for use with pre-mixed fuel/oil but the oil tank may still be there. Don't assume that the injector is working just because the tank is there.

so basically it MIGHT still be mixing oil with the fuel the oil just has its own tank, ill definatly check on that when i get home, also check the oil level maybe have to add more in there

i replied to the other thread you posted on but here it goes again. the oil tank maybe located under the seat. if there is an inspection cover in front of the seat by your feet then it maybe there, otherwise look under the seat like fox said. good luck and

I've been looking for brake pads and a battery and maybe other stuff if the prices are right but all I see in consistency online are gy6 parts and I'm doubtful if that's my engine type

Post a pic of your engine/scoot. That way we can all know what you have. I have parts for 50cc 4T's.

That's a Baja SC50 clone (see ID plate, "MODEL : SC50"). They have the odd combination of a 139QMB (GY6 50cc) engine, paired with the CVT components of a 1E40QMB (Minarelli/Jog). The good news is that you don't have to worry about oil injection or premix. You just need to make sure the crankcase has about 800mL of oil in it. Change the oil and add that much, then get a new dipstick (goes where the rag is stuffed near the fan).
You said it's loud, so you might wanna check the header nuts and the bolts that attach the muffler to the head pipe. Make sure both gaskets are in good condition.
The front brake is disc, so try bleeding it first. Rear brake may benefit from going over the shoes and drum with emrey cloth and brake cleaner.
