I love the way my big carb sits facing forward... of course I have no fairings and an intake that sticks the carb farther out. It wasn't so cool when I had full floorboards and fairings. BTW, you can get intakes and reed spacers for minarelli engines that will spin the carb around.

Sweet 9 silverspar . Try venting the radiator more cant hurt. rally i would love to have my carb facing backwards or back ya know, filter options and mounting would be a breeze..... I took the front panel off yesterday morning and added some coolent. Not a whole lot but it was a little low. I then went on a pretty long ride, pushed it pretty good and the light never came on. So far so good on that. I honestly think the guy I bought it from, just bought it because he thought it was "cool". He could'nt even tell me what kind of 2 stroke oil he'd been using in it. It was put on Craigslist by the original owner about 6 months ago listed at $2100. I remember it because I wanted it and could'nt afford it at the time. This dude that I bought it from was'nt really what you would call a scooter enthusiast. Thats why I don't know much about exactly what's been done to this scooter other than what I can see on the outside. That's a really long way to say that I don't think it has an overheating problem, the guy before just did'nt keep up regular maintenance on it. Sorry for the long winded explanation.

Well I still have'nt GPS verified anything but I went by a radar station at 63 mph and I'm pretty sure I was'nt at top speed.

I wonder why they are like that in the first place? More under seat storage room?

Man, wheelies and probably 65MPH or better. You've got the best of both worlds! Now I'm jealous.
I'd trust the radar for the most part. I set my speedometer to match up with radar. When I got pulled over last night and the cop said he clocked me at 45 my speedo said 44.5. If I can get a ticket for it, it's close enough for me.

My carb could go either way and it wouldn't affect the seat. It sits plenty high enough over the carb. Of course I'm used to large framed Tritons, and it probably only matters how it was setup on the first scooter it was designed for.

I'd like to find the original owner and find out exactly how this things set up. I'm damn sure not going to touch anything other than I put a Platinum Iridium plug in it and ordered a new belt. Here's a couple of engine pics. # #

I see the cyl. is an AIRSAL. I had nikasil plating problems with my a/c AIRSAL T6 single ring kit after running it for over a year. W/c may last better though. Looks like a real nice setup. Now you just need to go out and bait a few guys. Go pick on a cruiser at a stop light or something. Right guys?
