He had an 11 foot section of rusted out drain pipe running under the house that had been leaking for a long time. He had a plumber quote him $3000 to fix it. I took a look and fixed it in under an hour for $75 labor and the parts were around $40. I hate plumbers! They're all soul-less rip-offs. Lou gave me a $15 tip for wading in the muck so I made a quick $90 this morning! Now all I need is for the Lakers to stop losing so much.

I would have replaced it myself for free since I cut it and used it anyway. I thought you had only one hole in that pipe so a wrap patch would have fixed it most likely. If you notice the water backing up in the sink because it drains slow you may need to snake out the rest of that pipe all the way to the street. I'd put the snake in down at the far end where the plastic turns back into iron and the pipe goes into the ground. That grease buildup was really bad. I'm sure that pipe is partially clogged all the way to the street. Hey Fox. nice job but not all plumbers are rip offs just most of them. Was that cast iron that you took out? Bill Okay, let me rephrase. Most plumbers are soul-less rip-offs. Yesh I think it was cast iron. It was very heavy. One end was already in a no-hub so I sawzalled the other end leaving about an inch of it remaining and used a no hub to attach it where I cut it. I had slit one coupler lengthwise for a wrap patch before I realized the entire pipe had to go but I used it anyway to connect the two pieces of new pipe. I figured it would be okay with the slit on the top butIi guess it leaked and Lou replaced it.
