Sweet. If the rain pants work they'd be better than the thicker, more cumbersome, ski pants.
I tried to adjust my handguards to fit with my new gloves better, but I couldn't really get the room I needed. I ended up taking them up. Rode for 32 miles last night at 28 degrees and I can't say it was much different than with the guards. I still don't think they're a bad idea, but I'd probably avoid the ones I got. Between easily damaged plastic threads and not being able to adjust them to clear thick gloves, they just aren't very good.

Update on the cold hands issue. Since the guards didn't work out I got desperate and ordered these glove liners. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018BJSGW/ref=oss_productThey make a huge difference. Comfy down to the low 30s for extended riding. The bonus is that for fuel stops i can take the bulky outer gloves off, keep the liners on and preserve a base of warmth. So now with the "plastic rain pants", winter coat and glove setup, i'm good for at least 50 miles at anything over 30 degrees. In SOMO that means I rarely go more than 4 days with-ought a ride.

Very nice. I just got cheap $5-6 liners with mine, but they definitely make a difference as well. I take mine off for fuel ups. Just paranoia. I keep thinking I'll get gas on 'em and not be able to use them for the rest of the ride without screwing up my gloves. lol

Thanks, now i'm gonna be paranoia about that. Especially with my habit of putting my gloves on the pipe to warm them up. lol

That's taking hand warming to a bit of an extreme.

They're saying 4-8" here late tomorrow, that's plenty for me. Snowblower messed up last year, couldn't find a carb. I just remembered I needed to fix it the other day and did manage to find a carb... so that should be here a few days after the snow. lol It's just one of those things I never think of until I need it. Now, if I could figure out how to attach the auger to the front of the scoot, I'd be in business.

I went out tonight for an hour and 15 minutes or so, at 22 degrees. Figured I better get a ride in before it snows. lol I found the limit of my new gloves. My fingertips were hurting for the last 7-8 miles so I pulled out of the shoulder doing 40 and cruised with traffic doing 55MPH the rest of the way to get it over with. lol I spent a good bit of time in town going slow and at red lights and such earlier. Seems once your fingertips start to get cold, you can stop or go slow all you want, they aren't warming up till you get back inside.
