Hi there, As the subject says, I need info on scooters for short people. These things are hugely popular in Asia, right? And they're not tall. So there has to be something my 4 foot 11 inch GF can ride. And by ride I mean touch the ground with her feet with her butt on the seat. On my Kymco, her feat are a good 8" off the tarmac even when she's way forward on the seat. Is a Honda Metro short enough? What about an old vespa Moped? This one is for sale locally, and the price is right: tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/mcy/2090887279.htmlI'm toying with the idea of getting her a scooter for christmas so we can ride together, but it's got to be a shorty. Ideas?

I think a lot of the small retro styled scooters are going to be a little lower. Honda Metro, Yamaha Vino, Keeway Venus, there are tons of them. You might wanna browse around and check out the seat height of models that interest you.

I am 5' 3/4" and the Chinese retro style fits me perfectly. See sig. You are looking for a seat height of about 27". The weight of these is also low, so handles well for our girl arms. I don't feel like I have to hold it steady from the top.

Vino, Yamaha Jog, Honda Spree....You could always lower it?...

Yeah, another trick I've seen for shorter people is to remove a little seat padding to drop the seat height a tad. Unless it was really padded, I think I'd consider lowering first though.

Good sugestions, all. Thanks! I'm keeping my eyes open for a little retro scoot for sale locally, and I'll bring my tape measure when I go to see it.

my wifes had both a vino and now the metro and she says the metro is more comfortable and more manueverable. btw she's just 5'2" tall, and hits in at about 120 soaking wet maybe. i measured the seat height on her 07 metro and its only 28" on the stand. with her on it and off the stand its about 25". hope that helps grimsby.

It does, thanks. Cool coincidence : today at a petrol station a guy was filling up his Metro, and she ran over and asked to try the seat. It fit her comfortably. So that's the one I'm shopping for now. The scooterist in question said he paid just $400 for the thing. I wish I could find that deal.
